An extremely honest account from Wendy Mitchell. An incredible lady and superb writer.

This is a landmark book well written from the perspective of living with dementia and planning the inevitable end. Most sufferers lose control and are at the mercy of carers, family and the NHS and face a long downhill slide with carers having to guess the mental state and wishes. Wendy Marshall has the courage and help to show that she for one wants some control over her life's end and why not? There is a telling chapter with Baroness ******* who represents the hospice movement who does not listen to Wendy and comes across as an intolerant sanctimonious bigot. Then a chapter with a Dr Forrest in California who works with their dignity in dying movment helping people end their lives legally and she is a breath of compassion and understanding.Wendy adds a hugely important, well informed voice to those calling for a change in the UK law to bring us up to date with the rest of the democratic nations on the issue of assisted dying. As a life long UK GP with lots of experience in this field I absolutely support Wendy and her plea for more compassion. God bless her.

This woman, at the end of life, offers advice to friends and family, as well as anyone mortally ill.

I’ve followed Wendy’s journey on her FB page and as I live close to her village have enjoyed her numerous photographs of the local area . She was an incredible courageous lady with the heart of a lion who has given me , being the same age as her , the courage to organise my own ‘ living will ‘ . I know Wendy recently died but her legacy and courage will live on
