Covering old acne scars and preventing new ones at the same time
It's Almay so I was expecting good things and it delivers!I've developed so many new dark spots from breaking out that I need coverage that I never needed before. I don't particularly care for makeup because it's messy and too easy to get onto clothing.I was under the impression I needed a powder to hide my oily skin so I tried a powder foundation, but the fine dust sprinkled onto the counter easily which also meant I was more than likely inhaling it and the brands I used made the acne worse. It's funny that this product has such a long name "Almay Clear Complexion Makeup, Matte Finish Liquid Foundation with Salicylic Acid, Hypoallergenic, Cruelty Free, -Fragrance Free, Dermatologist Tested" but it makes perfect sense. I remembered that Almay was hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, but I didn't know they had liquid makeup with a matte finish that would also clear my skin. Wait, what?!I can even wear a moisturizer under it and the salicylic acid in this product will still go to work on my acne.I don't like to wear makeup, and I most certainly don't like to cover acne in makeup, but I highly recommend this foundation if you need to cover discolorations and get your breakouts under control at the same time!

It really has help me a lot. I love almay makeup
A little background on myself... I'm 26 years old and I have never ever used make up. All I ever used was eye liner, my whole life. Then recently about a year ago I break out horribly. It's been really hard on me since I've never had my face look this bad. I've never turn to make up... Ever. I didn't even know where to start what to look for. I took my 19 year old sister with me to Walgreen's one day I bought about 6 diffrent make up bottles, garnier, cover girl, bare minerals to name a few. I was going for oil free, acne fighting etc. I spend over 100 dollars! I know, pathetic. Very.... But I was desperate, my job requires me to go into customers houses about 10x diffrent houses a day. It takes a tow on me, I feel that all they see is my nasty acne. And of course I've taken many steps into fighting this acne. It's getting better. Anyway back to my review, I got home and went to work. Long story short almay is amazing! It went in smoothly and made such a big difference in my face, and self esteem. Like I mention before I know NOTHING about make up, I bought some sponges to apply it... Probably using them wrong. I just ended up applying with my hand, just like lotion. A little goes a long way. It has not caused further break outs which I'm so grateful for. And it has 0.5% of salicylic acid. As far as my morning routine I use a proactive toner, then a retinol moisturizer, then elta 46 spf sunscreen, and finally almay makeup. I know my pictures are so ugly and look like I'm at my worst break out, but believe it or not it's a 100x better since I started this new routine. I haven't had any new break outs. I'm eternally grateful for this little bottle. I know it doesn't make my skin look flawless but it does cover a lot of my blemishes. Which alone make me feel better about myself. I'm embarrassed to use this pictures out here having many people look at them. But if it'll help someone like me make a decision, that's all that matters :) I'm just trying to say that I highly recommend. Also keep this in mind, this almay bottle costs 15-16 at Walgreen's, ulta, and Walmart so here in amazon with this particular seller you are getting a bargain! Do your research you will not find it for 5.97 anywhere else! But honestly I would be more than happy to pay that 15 because it's worth itAs far as my picture goes, I used a small amount and made a thin layer. I've been using almay for 2 weeks and a half

Amazing Find
Wow. I am on a never-ending search for a foundation that works well for me and this product has been phenomenal so far. I have several issues with foundations. The main one is that my nose in particular gets oily and after a powder touch-up or two throughout the day it looks awful. Usually some kind of separation + cakiness nonsense. Also, I seem to have developed moderate rosacea over the last several years and in addition to the standard redness in my cheeks, I also get the pustular kind which makes me look like I'm having acne breakouts at any given time. Usually it's my nose that is affected which brings us right back around to the first issue because when the foundation separates, the redness and bumps on my nose show and look even worse with the way the foundation gets caked up around the pustules. I hate that word. Sounds so gross.Anyway, I only recently accepted that rosacea is what I'm dealing with and went in search of an affordable product that others with rosacea have had success with and wound up finding this Almay. I'm a big fan of their Smart Shade Butter Kiss lipstick and Smart Shade blush so I gave it a shot. I've had it about a week and have used it 3-4 times and each time when I cleaned my face that night I swear it was more clear than when I put my makeup on that morning. In fact, right now my skin is almost completely clear and feels the best it's looked in a LONG time. The nature of rosacea is that it comes and goes, flares up then settles down so I'm not 100% sure it's all this foundation (could just be the planets aligning or something) but my gut says it's doing something good for my skin.I've also been able to powder touch up throughout the day and the coverage on my nose still looks great. And oddly enough, the coverage looks and feels very sheer considering the way it covers up the red. It just doesn't look like I'm trying to hide anything----just that I've got my nice skin back which is awesome.
