Three Cheers Pirate Lap Desk

we bought this for our five-year-old grandson to use on a very long two-day drive and he absolutely loves it. We used it for drawing pictures which we exchanged; I colored his picture and he colored mine. What fun we had!

I'm surprised by the five star reviews. Functionally it's great (for now) but the fabric of the pillowed bottom is aweful! It's made from the same material as those cheap claw machine stuffed animals or the junk you win at a carnival for participating. Same goes for the filling. It sheds through the fabric! and I'm almost positive the "solid wood" top is made from particle board or MDF. The storage pocket is super tiny. You can fit four crayons in it, maybe. All in all, It's a cute design and a useful product but The execussion is lacking and I'm definitely disappointed. Only time will tell on how long it will hold up.

I bought this for myself, so I could do school work while not at home, I use it everyday at home too now..great product for adults and kids, and love the little zipper pocket for writing materials

This lap desk is great for the car or working at home on the couch. It is on the smaller side but it's perfect for a younger child. Great for drawing, homework, laptop, iPad, etc. I have one for each of my children ages 6, 7 and 7 and they love them! The pillow part is detachable for use as a regular pillow but we haven't really ever used it for that. I was worried the velcro may loosen over time if there was too much removing and reattaching going on.

I got these for my two kids to use on the airplane...worked great! The cushion is detachable. My daughter used it as a pillow! Would recommend these for sure.

Don't care for the velcro on the bottom. I didn't think my 2 year old grandson would notice but it was the first thing he saw. So off came the pillow. The other thing that I don't care for is a pillow instead of Styrofoam like most lap desks have. But my grandson loves the top of the desk. I just notice that he will go get my old desk b/c I think it is more comfortable.
