Solid performance, great size, better than expected build quality.
The monitor itself is gorgeous and after coming from a 2560x1440 16:9 monitor I was a dubious over whether I'd like having a monitor with a standard bezel, let alone a 21:9 resolution but I adjusted to it within a couple of hours and already doubt I could go back now I've had a few days using it.The HKC NB34C is 3440x1440 at 100Hz as advertised though you do get the option to run at a standard 60Hz if you want to. Video I/O is pretty simple with one HDMI, a DisplayPort and a DVI port though an extra HDMI port would have been nice even if I had to sacrifice the DVI port for it but for someone who only uses PC and Xbox One a DisplayPort and HDMI get the job done.At 34" diagonally it is about the same height as my old 27" Dell S2716DG (and I'm glad I went with that size because a 29" Ultra wide (which I was originally looking to buy) would have been exceptionally short. Because of this whenever I have to play in 16:9 ratio for games or consoles that don't properly support 21:9 it honestly doesn't feel any worse than if I was playing on my old monitor. Obviously if you're changing over from a normal widescreen bigger than 30" then your mileage may vary. You also get the option to enable multi-window splitting but unlike major brands like LG it's a bit barebones - You have the option of making your second screen a small overlay in one of the corners or you can split it directly down the middle which is pretty handy for productivity but it does "squash" your resolution if the source is wider which it most likely will be. Still not a bad touch though. I was hoping for a 16:9 ratio split so I could use the remaining narrow band of left over screen space as a portrait window my desktop while using the main window for my xbox which sadly can't be done. Still, two square windows isn't the worst thing in the world.I do have a few small gripes with the monitor that keep me from giving it a full five stars though;Con #1. No height adjustment or swivel which I knew very well when buying the monitor but it would still be nice to have. It does have tilt at least. Just make sure you've got a stand ready because it sits pretty low down.Con #2. It takes a while to turn on the display. Usually about 5+seconds so when booting my PC from cold I can slap in my Windows password and be logged in before the display even turns on. Might make getting to BIOS a little bit awkward if you're not already intimately familiar with your system.Con #3. Like the negative review here on Amazon says; there is a lot of popping and "crackling" from the plastic build. Personally I don't think its too bad at all and since I don't have any dead pixels like said user I think 1 star is a bit too harsh, but this might just be my specific unit and perhaps I just got lucky. Hell, even my Dell S2716DG would shift and "pop" every once in a while, especially if I actually touched it and that's considered a solid monitor across the board by most. As they state its from the plastic housing expanding/contracting from a change in temperature and it usually happens when I first turn it on once every 30 seconds or so but stops after a couple of minutes so its not a continuous problem. Its a bit more annoying when powering off after a long session but its not loud or obnoxious really, if you're familiar with clicky mechanical keyboard switches then you probably won't even hear the popping. At my basket I was offered an extended warranty/coverage sort of thing via Amazon (think it was through London General) for £29.99 which I took on the grounds of the negative review left on here - I have no need to return mine to base right now but if down the road I need to return it I didn't want to risk dealing with potentially crappy manufacturer customer service, so now I can just skip the middleman and send it to Amazon who will take care of it from there - Something I highly recommend especially considering its not even 10% extra ontop of what you're already paying. (Also covers water damage and knocks/cracks so that's a bonus)I'll probably update this review if I encounter any issues or gripes with the monitor further down the line but for now I'd definitely recommend with the insurance as a failsafe.

Excellent!
Great monitor, all my friends are impressed when they come over. 100Hz 3440x1440 works as advertised!

Major popping and cracking sounds
I decided to return the monitor as it makes loud plastic-y popping and cracking sounds. Especially when the monitor is powered off - it happens for at least one hour. It sounds like the plastic materials used are expanding/contracting. It also had one stuck pixel.I tried contacting HKC, sent 5 e-mails, phoned and filled their RMA form. No response whatsoever. Luckily amazon accepted my return request. If you get the monitor and it doesn't have the issues i experienced, it would be a good buy. However, be aware that their support and RMA is non existent.

For the price and what your getting this is surely an amazing monitor, I know I don't own it ( but will definitely be buying it nearer black Friday...), but fort the specifications it seems to be a dream of a monitor - Thank you HKC for this!
