Gets clothes CLEAN
Gets clothes CLEAN. I run a restaurant and I'm there all hours of the day so eventually all clothes turn into work clothes and they get messy. I used 2 tbs for a full load and my clothes came out looking brand new. Literally the fabric looked BETTER, I know I had detergent build up on most of my clothes and this got it all out and my clothes just look so clean. They feel better too, not all stiff and faded looking. Only gripe is the smell. It smells great in the package but the clothes don't come out smelling like that. Like other reviewers I noticed a faint spoiled milk smell ~yick~ after the clothes came out of the dryer, but they look and feel so clean and nice that I am just going to use scent boosters in my wash to combat the smell. Will keep buying tho, never used a detergent that worked so well in my life!

Absolutely the best laundry detergent!
I grew up in Germany but forgot how great this detergent is! I have a front loading HE washer and have no problems with using this in it. I put it in the detergent cup and set it for powder. My washer has a very large capacity, so I use three or four tablespoons of detergent. I do set my washer for an extra rinse cycle (but I do that for all detergents).Whites that have been dingy and gray became white again! It was crazy when I put my first Persil load away; the whites already in the drawer looked awful when compared to the Persil load I was putting away. You can also use this on darks with no trouble—it is not a bleach even if it does amazing things to your whites. This is a great detergent if you have issues with perfumes, as it leaves behind virtually no scent (also good as it doesn’t compete with perfume or lotions if you use them). One of my sons misses that clean laundry smell, but I love how Persil truly gets that stinky teenage boy smell out of clothes instead of just covering it up with fragrance. We ran out of Persil and couldn’t believe how sticky our clothes felt using Tide. Perhaps that is why dirt and odors don’t rinse completely out with it, even with an extra rinse cycle. My gymnast daughter loves Persil as she feels it gets chalk out of her leotards better than any other detergent we’ve tried. She also says it restores the compression to the spandex with each wash rather than repeated washes breaking the elasticity down. We’ve also noticed that in elastic in underwear and other things. The one con might be that your clothes will be a tiny bit starchy feeling—not as if you line dried them but not as soft as with other detergents. I like it given that I grew up line drying everything, but it took a bit for my kids to get used to.As others have mentioned, one of my brothers warned me to make sure to buy the genuine German product and not the one with English writing on the box. My brother said the American product by the Dial corporation is not the same.

FINALLY!!! Clean laundry after the FIRST wash! No more sour washing maching smells!
This stuff (the German version) is amazing. Since having kids, I find myself doing WAY more laundry than I had ever hoped to do. I have tried just about every brand of detergent - from the generic, to eco-friendly, to top rated/popular, to simple baking soda+vinegar... and in various formulations (pods, powders, gel) and let me tell you -- *every single load* of laundry either: a) didn't get clean (despite pre-treating); b) didn't *smell* clean (athletic gear had the WORST sour smell!); c) came out of the drier feeling stiff and crunchy (sandpaper towels, anyone?); d) faded or pilled horribly after only a wash or two.At first, I thought the problem was my washing machine - the dreaded front-loader! I've had repairmen out to service it, re-balance it, replace gaskets and detergent dispensers, and even clean it with enzymatic cleaner. Still, the laundry didn't feel like it was getting clean.Enter the German version of Persil. I didn't think it was possible to love a product so much. I was so hesitant to spend 30 bucks on a box of detergent, but the labor intensive task of laundry was kicking my butt. I only need to use one generous teaspoon per load; not the 1/4 cup I've had to use with other brands to wash/re-wash, so this should last for more than 44 loads (per box). I also save on water usage and electricity because I've cut my machine use by about half. I use distilled white vinegar instead of fabric softener (also saving money as well as avoiding unnecessary goo in my dispenser) and every load comes out great. The scent can be strong when the load comes out of the washer, but once dry, the clothes don't smell at all. Everything from spandex to pet blankets and grimy stains come out the same: simply clean. It *almost* makes me want to take every piece of clothing out of my closet and rewash it. Almost....

Works fine
For some reason I thought it would have a fragrance like liquid Persil. There is no fragrance. Just so you know

It’s a powder.. but DANG!
Thought this might be just some hype, but this is pretty amazing laundry detergent. Whites are brighter than with oxy, and a little goes quite a long way. I’m using just under a 1/4 cup (just under 40ml) and it’s perfect for my Front load. No weird washing machine odors and have not noticed and off smell in the clothes, just fresh and clean.Already ordered the large box to replenish!

Cleans well and leaves a fresh scent
Luckily, my German is decent, so I had little difficulty in figuring out how to use. But, I think most of us may not realize that powdered detergent needs to be placed in a mesh bag, in the drum.

Good stuff
I believe this is the British Percil, it’s a bit more expensive, but we use it for our white sheets.

Persil Universal MEGAPERLS
