Why not
Got 2 sets of these for my step son for Christmas. One white and one green. Both 9s. Hes still running the same set but I will say he doesn't play as much as me. The smaller strings are beginning to wear but honestly we all gotta expect that. After playing his guitar I noticed the feel of the coating but it's not bad even tho I prefer normal uncoated strings. With that said I really wanna get the reds for my guitar but it's more for looks than functionality in my opinion. I change strings often out of boredom so the chipping wouldn't bother me. The tone is definitely warmer but I cant say for sure because hes got a strat style sss and I have a Ibanez hh so that's a difference. I recommend these if you just want cool looking strings and dont mind changing them once every month or so. Sorry for the bad image. The picture was taken to show of his new knobs and not focused on the strings but you may be able to see the slight wear.

Sound Dead to Me
Good- Coating is nice. It looks like strings that were spray painted. Basically a very thin coating. Very similar to Elixer coated strings but with color. I'm not sure how long the coating will hold up, but they would hold up for a performance if new.-No black fingers after playing when new.-The strings seem to be a bit easier to bend than what I'm used to?-They seem to hold there tune well.-The coating is smooth and nice to play on.BAD- The strings sound dead to me. Much less bright than Ernie Balls, or Elixer NanoWebs that I prefer. Like I have had them on there a couple days, and I'm already thinking I really should get new strings because it's bugging me. Its rather dramatic.- They package the strings in 3 packages (string 6 and 4 together then 5 and 2, and 1 and 3.. or something like that). It's a super annoying way to package the strings, especially if you want to replace only one string.- The coating on the thin strings has started to wear after about 4 hours of use from the frets. That's not all that noticeable.- Under white lights the string color isn't super noticeable if your not looking for it.

Good tone should last a while with the white coating
No difference in sound from non-coated strings should last a while

the coating effects the sound, not just color
The media could not be loaded. I guess I had a momentary lapse of reading comprehension - or at least I wasn’t paying attention to the term “coated” for what that means when referencing a guitar string. Maybe I thought the coating was just for color and wouldn’t effect the feel or sound of the strings. Or maybe it’s been so long since I’ve used anything but Cobalt EBs and D’darrio Chromes on my electrics and Ddarrio Nickel Bronze on my acoustics that I forgot how much I dislike coated strings of any kind. They sound weenie… and they feel “wrong” - like plastic under my fingers. It also says they are about ½ price at $9.40.I dunno. I’ve been playing for a long time and even though I can’t/don’t change my strings as often as some retentive people say you should and never break strings since I adjusted most guitars for higher gauges, I’ve still been through an awful lot of strings (and ruined a few vacuum cleaners by losing the ball end and partial string in the carpet) and so far can’t say I would recommend these to anyone. And if you want them for the color gimick, don’t get white. They just look like standard strings (I’d go neon blue if I could rewind the tape echo time, but I’d probably come back all wow and fluttered).

Sounds nice, feels nice, looks cool.
Love these American made strings. A bit pricey but if you want something that looks cool do it. I've tried most string brands and usually stick to d'addario made in New York. On an impulse I got these and they're very good. Coating wears a little from picking.

Sound is good. However
Sound is good. However, the coating is not very resistent. It comes of easily when bending strings. I had to replace those after 3 weeks of use.
