They didn't advertise that it could do any more than Windows, Android, and Neo Geo Mini, but they've had like a decade of broadly compatible controllers (Nintendo Switch, Analog's own bluetooth adapter, Analogue Pocket Dock, etc.) and this limitation kinda blindsided me. I wasn't expecting compatibility to begin and end, perpetually, on just those three platforms. It's kinda disappointing.As to the controller itself: the thumbstick feels a bit too smooth (could use more grip) and the clickiness is kinda subtle, but as a major caveat to that point, I've never owned the original, so it could be 100% accurate to the NGCD. The should buttons feel great, 100% on par with 8BitDo's earlier efforts. Latency feels good, at least when testing Neo Geo CD games on a MiSTer device; I'm sure we'll see more accurate test results over the next few days.I honestly would love it if SNK changed their mind about the compatibility limitations. Heck, if they don't, and 8BitDo release a "Pro" model with broader compatibility, I'll probably sell this one and buy that one.

I have a guilty pleasure when it comes to the Neo Geo. I went ahead and purchased all five variants of the pad (still waiting on the Terry one from Amazon) in hopes that I could somehow get it to work on a Neo Geo MVS. I’m happy to report that it works straight out of the box without having updated any firmware. You do need the NeoBT adapter to get it to work. I’ve never owned an official controller from SNK, I’ve used other pads like the PS3/4 and the 8bitdo SNES controllers on it. They all work great and for the longest time the 8bitdo SNES pad was the best. The 8bitdo Neo Geo controller will be my go to pad now. I’m stoked this works so well!

I’ve already left a pretty extensive review on one of these bad boys with a different art variant but I’ll say it again. Amazing controller, a must have for neogeo enjoyers, and one of the most satisfying thumbsticks ever. This one however, has Mai on it, so it’s even better, like 2x better.

I never used the original NeoGeo CD controller. I couldn't understand peoples hate on the FS & Mini gamepads ... sure they weren't the greatest ever, but they are decent controllers for certain games, anyways. But now I get it. This new 8bitDo controller makes the FSP/mini gamepads look like utter garbage in comparison. These are so accurate & precise, they handle emulation 2600 games (this side of Ms Pac-Man) with ease. I was on the fence; I did not want spend ~40 bucks on a marginally better gamepad. I didn't. It was spent on a vastly superior gamepad.

Great for Retro Game emulation and Fighting Games! All my MAME, Neo Geo, Naomi and FBurn roms work and feel amazing to play with this device. Other system like NES, SNES, Sega Gen, Gameboy and PS1 work good. May have some directional focus issues with Punchout type games; Don Flamenco will be hard to beat with this controller. lol, but much love to 8bitdo!

They released an AES controller without any dongle to have it work on original AES. And to use it with switch you need to buy additional USD 20 dongle.Otherwise the controller works very well.
