Pelican How Religion Evolved: And Why It Endures
M**E
Easy to read well researched
Robin Dunbar has an easy writing style. He covers academic topics in an accessible way so I, as a layman, could easily follow his arguments. He covers a range of topic areas to inform ideas on why humans are religious and how this arose, while working hard not to speculate too far beyond his evidence. It’s an interesting read that brought in perspectives I had not considered before.

Many natural evolutionary scientists might agree with Robin Dunber's concepts on the genre
Dunbar's religious thoughts and the origin of the religion are as follows:Humans have developed the spiritual thoughts or mystical stance from very ancient ages. They have been given the trance by some drugs such as mescaline or peyote.Trance has been brought by laughters, dances, singings, and lingistic communicationsamong relatively small number of peopl'se group within 100 to 200, mainly around150 people. These processes have developed rituals, sacrifices, and temples. The area which occurred the major religions are ristricted within the sub-tropical zonesin the northern hemisphere based on the relationships between the crop growing seasons(or days) in a year, the population there and the number of infectious diseases. (the more those days and populations, the more diseases. The more population andlanguages, the more competitions or disputes for food and habitats among groups.)That is, in there, people needed to develop religions to get their peaceful minds andlives.Dunbar also discusses the origin of the cults and the sects of the religions, and thedifferences among them.
