I recently purchased the JBL Charge 5 from Amazon, and overall, I’m really happy with it. The sound quality is excellent, and the bass is deep and punchy, making it perfect for music lovers. Whether indoors or outdoors, the speaker delivers loud, clear, and immersive audio. The build is sturdy and rugged, plus it’s IP67 waterproof and dustproof, so it’s great for poolside or travel use. The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 20 hours on a full charge — easily enough for a day out. Connecting via Bluetooth is fast and stable, and features like JBL PartyBoost allow you to link it with other JBL speakers for an even bigger sound. The only drawback is the price — it’s definitely on the higher side compared to other portable speakers. But if you’re looking for premium quality and long-term durability, it’s still a solid investment. Verdict: Great speaker with powerful performance, just a bit pricey.

Super sound quality easy to operate

The sound quality provided is exceptionally good for a wide range of listeners. Vocals are remarkably clear, ensuring easy understanding of the spoken or sung words. Its design is simple, making it user-friendly and accessible for anyone. This particular sound system is an excellent option for those who prefer a less intense listening experience. Overall, it is a great choice for everyday use without loud, booming sound.

Very good sound quality hassle free wireless connection works well with Apple AirPlay . Excellent battery life portable and good bass reflex. Perfect size for home and portability.

Disclaimer before review, I could not get to compare the charge 5 with any other Bluetooth speakers by auditioning before purchase. My only previous experience with bluetooth speakers is with an Onyx studio 6. When comparing the charge 5 to the studio 6, the latters sound quality is much better in terms of lower frequencies, and only slightly worse than the former in terms of mids and highs. But that is a much larger and less portable form factor. For the size and convenience, the JBL does a fine job. It's a very good speaker for personal listening, with good clarity and detail in low volumes. For loud listening the lower frequencies are not very satisfying. The WiFi feature is purely for the added connectivity and freeing up the phone audio for other purposes. Sound clarity is better with bluetooth even though there is no aptx or ldac. I don't understand why Spotify connect sounds worse than streaming directly via bluetooth, I had expected the opposite while purchasing. It's not that its bad, just that BT audio is clearly superior. Overall it's a worthwhile purchase, and it's the only option that fits all my boxes of portability, brand reliability, and wifi connectivity, and quite often I find myself surprised at how well it plays songs that have strong midrange. Do your research before buying.
