Village Lighting Double Door Framer

Works well to hold up lighted garland. Takes a bit of trial and error to set it up so that it fits and holds firmly and snugly. Had to flip it "upsidedown" and switch the extensions to get mine to work the way I wanted it to. Seems to work better that way than as described in the instructions.

Its a tension rod that will hang garland nicely over double doors. It works just as advertised. I would have like to have given it 5 stars but the instructions were poorly explained. On my second try it was relatively easy to put over the door.

For as long as I can remember I have used fresh cedar swags wrapped in lights around my front door for the holidays. I moved and had a different entry (no nails). I didn’t want to ruin my beautiful new door so I made this purchase. It took a bit of thinking to make it work and thought I would pass it along. I have a single door with side lights on each side and a transom above. I purchased the one for the double door to install in the transom area. The only trick is that is uses tension to hold it in place and the hinge is one direction...up. So I put it the upper part of the window at and angle and slide it down. So it rested at the bottom of the window. Between the tension and where it sat it held through all the blizzards of the winter. It looks so nice inside and out and easy to put up and down. Worth every penny.

I went to put it up and it twas a pain getting to where is fit. I then tried hanging some garland on it and there was a big gap between the hanger and the top, almost as if you needed to double the garland. I returned it. That's the best part. I emailed Christmas Lights Etc saying I wanted to return it and the next day I heard back from them and shipped it out! I did have to wait about 2 weeks for the refund, but I'd buy from this company again.

Perfect. I tried command strips for outdoor and because of the cold, it didn't hold. I also got the brick grips that wedge in between the mortar joints. Also didn't work because the pediment above the door was vertical NOT horizontal. Save yourself the headache and just get this. the double door variety fit a regular door with two sidelights.Something I wished I would have read first- unscrew the middle bolt slightly- THEN brace the ends and tension causes it to stay put. We kept trying to wedge it in, coming from below and forcing it upwards- never able to get the bar straight. Once we re-read the instructions, and unscrewed the middle bolt, gave the rod enough "give" to put it in place and then press the tension bar straight. Bolt into place and Joila! Perfect!

I bought this for a client. It did not work for their door. It had too many layers of moldings. The pads could not get a strong grip and could not support the weight of the garland. We ended up using 3M sticky hooks. I did keep it for myself and plan to try it next year for myself. The quality is very nice and it looks good above the doorways.NOTE: just make sure you have about 3-4 inches of flat surface to mount it. Then is will be great!

The front door garland is big and quite heavy and last year my brother had a heck of a time constantly having to re-support the garland with the plastic hooks so I bought him this hanger as an early Christmas gift and was pleasantly surprised that it uses tension vs having to be screwed into the wood frame. Easy to assemble and super easy to install. We chose to tension it between the bricks rather than the wood door frame. Worth the rather hefty price.

Item as advertised *except* for one important item. The drilled holes did not line up correctly, making it impossible to use the hanger. However, in my case, I have a clever hubby who drilled a hole in the correct place and we are now able to use it.The manufacturer needs to pay closer attention to their manufacturing process.
