Well-made, entertaining puzzle toy for smart puppies
Our 22-pound, 9-month-old, Yorkie/schnauzer puppy Moseley loves puzzles and needs challenging mental stimulation or he quickly becomes bored and causes mischief. We've been feeding him lunch daily in the PetSafe Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug Meal Dispensing Dog Toy, Medium/Large , which he LOVES, though it mostly involves doing the same thing repeatedly to get food out. We also occasionally feed him dinner in a multi-step puzzle toy or a slow feeder bowl, so we bought this product for variety. Though he figured out how to get all the food out of this level 3 puzzle in about 10-15 minutes the first time he tried it, he definitely enjoyed the process of solving the puzzle. Tonight we tried it again, and he completed the puzzle to get all his food in just over 5 minutes, but he was loving every minute of it, as the video shows. (NOTE: he eats small bites, so his food actually fits in the small drawers of this toy; dogs who eat normal kibble would probably need to use this for treat-finding training instead.) This isn't the most challenging puzzle we have, but it involves enough different actions and steps to keep our puppy actively engaged and interested while he eats his meal. The product is made of a solid matte plastic that has a nice, upscale feel to it and I didn't see any markings on it from teeth or paws after our first two uses, though I wouldn't allow my dog to use it unsupervised or chew on the pieces. I was happy enough with this product that I plan to buy another level 3 puzzle from the same company, Trixie Chess Game, Level 3 , and use them together once he's perfected each of them to make a more challenging puzzle that only has food in some of the compartments.

Challenging AND Washable!
Fantastic toy! As mentioned in other puzzle toy reviews, I have a Belgian Shepherd who is too smart for his own good. As often as I can I buy puzzles and things that really get him thinking, and he loves them. I've been eyeing Move 2 Win for quite some time (as well as the other Trixie toys) and when it went on sale I had to jump. Worth the price and worth the wait! Unlike the plastic puzzle toys I've bought before, the plastic on this puzzle is thick and extremely durable. The size of the pegs and slots are also large enough for a shepherd to use the toy and me not worry he'll choke on them or break them trying to solve it. Even better, the pegs and drawers are entirely removable and washable! I love his other puzzles he's had since puppyhood, but they get pretty slimy and saniwipes don't always get in places perfectly. The puzzle itself is surprisingly difficult with a simple concept: push the lever in four directions to push out the drawers, remove the pegs, and pull out the drawers they're holding in place. A toy of this complexity is about what you would give to a human toddler, say three or four years old. When you think about it, that's a pretty tough puzzle and really impressive. That said, don't expect your dog to solve it the first time or without help. Really, puzzles should be demonstrated to the dogs and some help given until they get the idea, and with the Trixie puzzles it helps if your dog has already solved level 1 and 2 puzzles before. This one builds on the puzzle that uses drawer pulls, and the one that introduces the lever, so if they've solved either one before, this will be easier. Sariel doesn't have them, so it was an entirely new concept for him. Typically he solves puzzles alone the first time in about a minute or less, and this was the first time he's actually needed my help. The pegs and drawers were easier to figure out and it was the lever that confused him a bit. It'll take another time or two showing him and he'll have this one down no problem. Overall I'm totally impressed and look forward to buying more of the Trixie toys. I would give a quick word of warning, though. With a lot of puzzles I find reviews from people saying they left their dogs with it and found the toy destroyed in seconds. Things like this are meant to be bonding and training experiences, not babysitters. Even though it's really sturdy, always supervise your dog with puzzles and toys made with hard plastic like this.

Pretty Cool
My dog is very clever and good at problem solving, observation, and deductive reasoning. I got the Level 3, assuming that anything else would be too simple. As it turns out, he struggled with this, at first. I really had to work with him to keep his motivation up. Eventually, he figured all of the trick out, and they are simple now. But the process of getting there was very stimulating and rewarding. What I love about this is that there are a lot of different ways to challenge the dog, from very simple and straightforward, to somewhat complex multistep processes. If your dog isn't fairly observant or doesn't like to persist with challenges, this level will probably just frustrate the dog and be boring for you. What I don't love is that the challenges are rather mechanical. So, they aren't natural sorts of problems for a dog. I think this makes for a good challenge, but I also think it somewhat lessens the dog's innate motivation. Also, once the dog learns all of the various challenges, it is pretty much just a paperweight. It took us about 5-6 sessions.

Not for unsupervised use. Very fun interaction for you and your dog.
My Labrador mix loves this toy. She has progressed very well in figuring out how it works. This is a toy that you coach your dog while using; encouraging, praising, etc. My dog does not destroy any of her toys, not a chewer at all. Yet I would not leave her alone with this toy because that is not the type of use it was designed for. She gets very excited when we tell her that we are going to play the brain game. She really focuses and has learned the sequence for getting the treats and you can tell that she is super pleased when she finishes getting all the treats out. The only complaint I would voice is that the yellow drawers that work off the slider do not open enough to reveal the second compartment unless the slider is pushed with a great amount of momentum. Would recommend for responsible dog owners😀

Came Damaged
The shipping package was fine, but when I opened it I saw the product packaging was destroyed. The item itself only has minor imperfections as a result, but this is unacceptable. It is clear that someone saw the package was damaged and but it in another box to ship. This was supposed to be a gift. I wish I could return it for a non-damaged version of the same item, but that was not an option given when I tried to initiate a return. Now I have to find another way to gift it (not in its original packaging as intended) and spend more money on another box to do so. Now onto the item itself. The cone-like things are very easily pushed out with even the slightest force. The drawers are completely removable which will make cleaning easier but they fly out of the lever is moved too quickly or if the puzzle is tilted on its side. The plastic has some imperfections but seems sturdy enough. Overall, fairly good product, but bad handling of it. It should never have been shipped like this.

My dog Sam loves it!
My Sam really enjoys playing with this toy. I don't think it is that challenging but it gives him something to do for a few minutes and gets his brain going. I was looking for something different and this is certainly different. It makes him happy and we have fun interacting with it so it was definitely worth the investiment. I intended to save it for a Christmas present as he loves opening presents but I am as bad with gifts for my dog as I am with my children so if you are like me buy this but wait until it is closer to Christmas because you won't be able to resist playing with it with your dog. Every time Sam sees me getting this out he starts wagging his tail and running around-and we use regular kibble, not treats, so I know it's not the food. Enjoy!

Great Toy for Brainiac Dogs and Maybe Parrots!
I bought this last year and my dog still plays with it. Keep in mind that how your dog engages with this toy might not look intelligent or what you were expecting - just be patient, let the dog figure things out and point out how things work at a minimum. I have three different ones and I get them out at different intervals in different combinations or sometimes just one at a time. Good for a rainy day or as a reward. My dog loves all three. Also good to use when they are actually a bit hungry. If my dog seems to have forgotten how it works, I make her sit and watch no more than two or three demonstrations, then I leave her alone. Don't leave the dog alone with this toy, it's best to sit with them and enjoy the show. If I turn my back for too long she'll start gnawing on some of the parts. (Cause to her it IS a toy afterall...) I fill these toys only twice during each session. When she is done I put everything back in the box and out of sight til I get it out again. I think this is why she still finds them very interesting after one year.

love it
I ordered this for my two Dachshunds and I'm totally satisfied with the purchase. No it didn't take them long to figure it out (several minutes) and get all the treats, but I didn't really expect it to either, given their play time with other puzzles. It's a fun short interactive game for them. I will say this though, the moving parts are pretty loose and slide out of position very easily. I discovered this might present a problem when my one of my boys decided to just pick the whole thing up & shake it to get the treats out (because he's a problem-solver, haha) so I'd say if your dog isn't the calm & reserved type, you'll probably have to hold this puzzle down for them, which means yeah, you won't be able to just fill it & leave it. Nonetheless, I still give it five stars because too loose it probably better than too tight.

Samen leren
