Super Pocket TAITO Edition

Affordable device with a good screen and sound. Has built in games and also plays the Evercade cartridge games. Great preloaded games such as Bubble Bobble, The New Zealand Story, Liquid Kids, ad others! You can keep adding credits in game so you can keep playing. Each game has multiple save slots to save your game as well. Love this handheld and excited to get cartridges with some old favorites!

I've had my eye on Blaze Entertainment and Evercade for a while, but never bought into the ecosystem for one reason or another. At $60, I deemed the Super Pocket an acceptable risk and decided to go for it. This is an absolutely incredible device for the price point! The Super Pocket feels good and solid in hand despite its small size, the screen is plenty bright enough, and the single speaker is astonishingly loud when you want it to be, and overall it performs exactly what it's supposed to with flying colors. As far as negatives go, the battery life is deceptively short, the L and R buttons are as weird as they look, and I really wish their was a discrete way to know what volume setting my device was at. Side note, I personally love the D-Pad, but it seems like some people aren't fans. For a final negative, it sounds like there might be some quality control issues with the Super Pocket line. Mine has worked wonderfully since it arrived a few weeks ago, but I have heard stories of screen issues. However, it sounds like Blaze Entertainment is very good about repairing and replacing devices as needed, so that shouldn't be more than an inconvenience. Overall, I highly recommend the Super Pocket and I think it serves as an excellent entry point to Evercade. This device DEFINITELY shines most when you have a few cartridges to to expand your library.

Man where to start. The Pros * it’s $60 * Fits in your pocket. * Screen clarity and brightness is great for $. * Buttons and D pad feel great I have not had any problems playing the games. * Holds a decent battery charge * Has some great games pre loaded my favorite are, Cadash, Football champ, Growl, Operation Wolf, Volfied. All the other games are just ok to me, I feel like they are kids games but I’m sure they are loved by many they just weren’t my cup of tea. But those games alone are worth the device. * Doesn’t feel cheap. * It plays evercade games The Cons * The shoulder buttons, they should have just done one shoulder button on each side. It would have made it more comfortable to use its my ultimate gripe with this system. The device is too small to manipulate multiple shoulder buttons like that and it’s just too crowded. * You can’t remap the buttons which I think is ridiculous in this day and age. I gave it 4 stars cause of to many shoulder buttons and not being able to remap the buttons That’s my only real con with this systems I have other tiny nit picks which I will list below. Personal things I wish were better and more thought of. * a bigger screen, a quarter inch each way with the screen would help tremendously. Your main audience is 30 and up our eyes aren’t getting better. * Making the device an inch longer would help in holding the device for long periods of time and still be able to fit in your pocket. * Spacing the X, Y, B, A buttons a little farther apart. I love these kinds of systems and hope they do more. A Konami , Multiple Sega ones would be cool to see. This is their first smaller size system so the first wasn’t going to be perfect and for 60 bucks I think it’s a great deal. I hope they include some improvements on their next platforms.

Buttons feel good to me, haven't had to use the back ones ever. I chose the taito game package handheld because I like the variety of games more than the Capcom fighting. Actually the games are pretty engaging. Very decent list I'm very happy with. Battery works decent enough. Screen looks good. Size seems comparable to other handhelds maybe a little less think than a Gameboy, and lighter weight. I highly recommend for retro gamers, not sure if little kids would like the games offered here. For $60 it might not be a bad road trip investment to try on the kids. Cheaper than some other alternatives, and a variety of other games to purchase in cartridge form.

This thing is way too much fun! I remember the Rastan arcade cabinet at the supermarket when I was a kid. Never thought I'd have that thing in the palm of my hand. Along with 17 other games! Love the portability. I have another emulator game system, but it's a little too big. This one is the perfect size I think. Put it in a backpack and you'll forget it's even there. Also love the boot-up time. Turn it on and you're ready to go. My other system takes like a minute or two to reach the startup screen. A beautiful little device. I'm going to get the Capcom version next!

Not much to say. If your looking at this and trying to decide whether to get into the Evercae ecosystem this is the place to start. Buy this and buy an Evercade cart that appeals to you. You will only be in maybe $85 total. You will enjoy it. The Super Pocket is very high quality. Screen is excellent. buttons feel good. The game assortment built in is great. Then you have a whole library of over 50 new carts to expand to. As of now Blaze the makers of Evercade are about to start reveling the new games coming for 2025. So good time to get in.

I was curious about the Evercade since it came out and the Taito pocket was the perfect chance to enter the Evercade ecosystem. After playing on it for months and trying out the different carts such as the indie platformers, Duke Nukem, and Jaleco. I must say it delivers quality retro gaming on the go. I like out i can put it in my pocket and play it whenever I want a real portable gaming like the original Gameboy. Most of the Taito games on this are very enjoyable. For those wondering if they should take a chance on this, I say go for it. It is pretty great for the price.

This is comparable to the Evercade EXP in a lot of ways and felt a bit redundant buying it. I loved the looks, especially on the Taito version and it's own separate bundle of onboard games was appealing. Cons compared to the EXP are that it's smaller, no rotate mode for vertically oriented games, and no HD out. Pros are that it's really loud and sounds great, I swear the tiny screen looks better, and the on/off toggle is a switch and not a button. It can play every Evercade cart except Cathedral (I retired that game about halfway, so not a problem for me). The Taito arcade games are as cute as the system. I'm sure I'll still use the EXP for when I want a bigger screen, but something just feels right about the form factor of this one. The EXP has a certain wonkiness that's hard to define, particularly on initial bootup or during firmware updates. The Super Pocket simply works and feels like a more finished, self contained product. Both handhelds have their merits, but this one might be my go-to longterm.

This is a very good quality pocket player. It doesn't feel clumsy like other cheap ones, it's very solid and games are good. You can put new games by using other cartridges.

best little thing ever. has only 18 games but the quality of it is so good. I WOULD RECOMMEND going to hypermegatech’s website to download the latest firmware with the superpocket and the usb included on your computer. just search hypermegatech support on any search engine. download the software and upgrade your firmware. then go to eversd.com, download the superpatcher, press BACKUP first then PATCH. this should make your superpocket have SO MANY FEATURES. i recommend holding X on bootup, you’ll be happy. honestly, it’s a really good retro gaming console if you just started buying these game boy emulator console yada yada yada (like me). it’s a good starting point and should help you get a feel on these kind of consoles. recommended games are: cadash, puzzle bobble, growl, football champ, volfied, the new zealand story, the legend of kage, and finally bubble bobble.
