We Games Checkers, 2" size, are perfect!
I was leery after reading so many negative reviews about ordering just checker sets: cheap balsa wood, thin, cracked/broken, felt circles underneath so they don't stack, etc. But I needed 2" checkers for my husband's old chess set. THESE ARE AWESOME CHECKERS, sold by We Games, 2" size. They are normal weight for checkers, they stack for the kings, perfectly fitting the top one's extended smaller circular base into the deeper lower one's circular top level; they come in a fabric drawstring bag to keep them together, they fit the 2" squares on the board, they are well made and sturdy, and they are a quality wood and paint or dye job. No bad smell. Only pros, no cons! Beware: the bad reviews must be coming from other checker sets that didn't tell who the seller was, not these. Be sure to look for We Games for 2" ones. I imagine the other sizes are good too, but I can only vouch for our 2" ones. We are VERY satisfied customers!!

Perfect 1 1/2 inch size for full-sized board
I had a tiny problem which the seller VERY quickly addressed and made me happy. The checkers are 1 1/2 inch across and fit fairly snugly into each other for 'Kinging' in the game of Checkers. As well they come in a draw-string bag so they don't get lost.....a nice thought. All in all they are perfect for the game and I expect they will last several lifetimes.
