Perfect fit for 1994 Toyota 4Runner
This is my second purchase from AntennaMastsRUs, the white cable inside of the first antenna didn’t survive below zero temps and the motor pushing it against ice. The good news is that these are very easy to install and the instructions provided are spot on. Just as a tip, it helps to remember what side the gears on the antenna cable are facing when you remove the original.

Not As Bad As I Expected...
The antenna broke on my 1994 Toyota 4Runner and I bought this to replace it. I've been putting it off because I thought it would be a pain to install and I'm not as good at crawling around in a wheel well as I was when I was in my 20s... Turns out I was wrong, it was easier than I expected, though I still had to crawl into a wheel well!To be clear, everything that could go wrong did and it still wasn't that bad. On the 4Runner, there isn't exactly a cover inside the wheel well, it's a plastic flap and I had to separate it from the fender. If you don't know what you're looking for, it's hard to find. Once that was peeled back, following the instructions that came with it was a huge help, they even include a few reassuring comments.Once I had the motor out of the fender, I had to remove 4 screws around the cover but there was also a nut in the middle that had to come off (wasn't mentioned in the instructions so thought I'd mention it here, probably take this off first). With the cover off, I let go of the motor box to read the instructions, it swung upside down and all the gears and parts fell out. Not that difficult to figure out but my recommendation is that you avoid the parts falling on the ground step. Also, there is a tiny o ring on the outside of the spool. Keep track of that.Anyway, I cleaned out the grease, put some wheel grease in there and installed it back in the fender, leaving the bolt loose incase I needed to adjust up or down (I did).Since my antenna cable was broken, I didn't know which way the teeth went. I tried front, it didn't grab so I tried back, it worked perfectly but I forgot a part so I took it out and tried again. I bring this up incase you need to take it out, you know it's not a big deal, just pull until it's out then turn the radio off and feed it back in.The whole process took about 30 minutes. Would have taken about 15 if I didn't drop parts all over the driveway! So if you want to save time, as I said before, skip this step and go straight to following the instructions! The tip of the antenna sticks up about 3/4" I've tried adjusting things and nothing seems to work, if it goes all the way down, I'd be inclined to change my review to 5 stars but overall, I'm quite happy!

Perfect Replacement Fit For 1995 Toyota 4Runner
Good quality and exact OEM fitment. I had to remove the motor unit to clean out the broken plastic cable and re-grease the unit. Turn the radio off, let the motor cycle through....then turn it back on and turn off the key. This wasn't a super fun and super fun and enjoyable deal be forewarned. Just undo the fasteners along the fender well, slide the plastic barrier aside. Spray the one rusted bolt holding the unit to the body with break free & remove it. Then remove the top nut & rubber foot and disconnect the wiring clip then let the unit hang. Remove 4 screws and one center bolt and tiny nut. Nothing flies out at you, just dont drop the gear assembly in the dirt. Remove all internal parts, clean gears and all inside areas with a toothbrush and spay penetrating oil removing all old grease and plastic. Re-grease entire inner areas with a good light grease, the yellow "Jap Factory Grease" is best.. but any light bearing grease will do. Button everything all back up. On the 1995 4Ruster, the teeth face to the back. Start the gear strip on the new mast with a few teeth. Set the new mast on the hood so the cable can go in fairly straight by itself, while you run around and turn the key on and guide in the rest of the mast teeth until the antenna goes all of the way down. Put the plastic foot on and the top nut to tighten securely. Cycle the radio on and off several times until the mast operates perfectly. You are now done and have a new antenna that looks and operates like factory new. You are also covered in black grease. Enjoy! Good Quality Product!

Great Alternative to Power Antenna
I had gone through two power antennas on a T100. Not the wisest decision, putting power antennas on 4 wheel drive pick ups. I switched to this short antenna. Installation was a breeze, reception is admirable.

Directions surprisingly thorough
Replacing an antenna can be fairly easy or quite involved, depending on the problem with the existing antenna. The directions were very thorough for any of these possibilities. This included directions for the worst case scenario, such that you had to somewhat disconnect the existing motor, accessing it through the wheel well. Well that's what I had to do, and was very hesitant because I thought it would be difficult, but the directions were so specific it wasn't too bad. And the new antenna worked great. So many products these days have poor directions, it was really nice to see extensive well written instructions.

Only lasted about 20 up and down cycles.
1993 4Runner - This was a car i was restoring so it mostly parked for the last 3 years. The antenna plastic broke off at the mast base after only about 20 up/down cycles. It was lubed well when installed and the vehicle was stored inside.

At 1st this thing was awesome. Worked great for 3 weeks
At 1st this thing was awesome. Worked great for 3 weeks, and then the anenna mast came apart from the antenna itself. I always read reviews before purchasing and this had pretty good reviews, but am very disapointed that this part only lasted 3 weeks. I wanted to exchange for another but there was only option for return, I'm having to take it off, ship it back, wait several weeks to get a refund, all this while having no antenna in my 4runner. THIS SUCKS***UPDATE: The company contacted me right away and sent me another antenna mast, one that works, no questions asked, a couoke days after i messaged them about the problem they had me a new one that works, I thinnk the 1st one that i got was just bad, we shall see on this one. If you have a problem, this company will take care of you.
