My 16-month experience and comaprison
I bought this shoe in March 2023 and started hiking 10 miles per week with a 50 pound vest on forest trails. In addition, it was my daily casual shoe. The following items recount my experience. Further below I will note differences between last year's shoe and the new one.At first I was extremely pleased with the comfort! The flat rubber soles really let you fell the ground below. The forest trails are rough, with stones and twigs. Even walking on flat asphalt I noticed a profoundly different foot sensations. Even when I step on the brake pedal in the truck I can actually feel the pedal response. When I do that with work boots I can't feel the pedal at all and just rely on the speed response.Second, the wide toe box allows the toes to spread apart, especially when walking the forest trail. My feet conform to the trail rather than the shoe. I get a sense of better grip when walking as well as a heightened sense of control.Third, the shoes never fell apart until after a year's use, when I downgraded them to work shoes and really beat them up. Based on my experience with Allstar shoes I expected the Whiten shoe to eventually die from sole separation. That never happened. The canvass remained firmly glued to the sole - no crumbling or separation like the Allstars. It was only after 3 months of abuse that the canvass started wearing through, as shown in the photo.Fourth, these Whiten shoes have metal eyelets. I see a lot of other shoes with molded-in eyelets that fail by pulling out. I like the full metal eyelets because I pull on the laces really hard. The original laces when the entire distance. The new shoe has all the same fit and feel. The only difference is that the old shoe upper is canvass, whereas the new shoe appears to be a synthetic material. Same styling and real rubber soles. I'm back on the trail and will report next year as to the wear experience.

Great intro to barefoot
I was looking to get into barefoot shoes without spending a fortune, and these had great reviews so I gave them a shot. So far they’re great, fit true to size and the toe box feels great compared to my Vans that I wore for years. My only concern is durability, but for the last few weeks they’ve held up great so far.

Hobbit feet rejoice
I’ve been looking for two years for something that compares to my discontinued Keen style. This is it! Great wide toe box, but the rest of the shoe is “normal”. Lightweight. They seem durable and the sole seems to be non slip. Great shoes.

Good fit but it depends on your needs.
My feet are 27cm from heel to the tip of the big toe, and 11cm wide, i bought size 10, which says the shoe is a bit over 28cm long. The fit of theae shoes on my feet is not loose at all but i feel no discomfort, i feel like i can do some aerobic activities and the shoe won't be loose from the inside, the shoes can fit a foot wider than what the measure guide says, if you want a more comfortable shoe instead of a fighter fit, i suggest going at least 1.5cm lomger than your foot and see what size is at that length, my foot isn't narrow and the shoe is wide enough for me, but if you have one very thick foot, i suggest going up to 2 sizes up than what the lenght suggests if all you're looking for is a comfortable shoe that's not way too long. For example, for regular shoes i always buy size 10.5 at least, or size 11, these shoes are size 10 and they fit me wider than the other shoes that are not too narrow either.Quality: The materials are soft but the insole is really thin, i replaced it with a softer insole because I'll be wearing these all day some days. I don't see them tearing apart easily but they are not as tough as nylon shoes.
