Wirespeed NAT at home at last!
Very impressed with this router, enough to motivate me to write my first Amazon product review. Firstly it is completely silent, I was worried about it being noisy as so many business networking devices sound like servers. I have cycled round a few consumer home router products in search of upgrading my home network speed, last router before this one was a Netgear FVS318G, wired router with 8 port LAN gigabit switch. The issue I found with all previous routers was the NAT speed; if I did a BT Infinity 2 broadband speedtest (www.speedtest.btwholesale.com) directly attached via a cable to the homehub 5 I get 75MB/s download, but attached to the Netgear the DL speed drops to 17MB/s DL. With the Cisco RV325 router there is virtually no drop in speed! (74MB/s) Awesome finally a wirespeed small silent device and more gigabit LAN ports. Last test was with my main wireless access point (Asus RT-N66U) even with triple NAT! it clocked 74MB/s. Added bonus for me is that the router is completely configurable with multiple VLANs (comes all preconfigured btw) I was able to add details of my LAN TFTP server for PXE booting. Looks like remote logging is all there too, remote syslog, email and SMS alerts via USB mobile dongle if attached.. I haven't tried the 3G/4G USB stick backup WAN yet but I suspect that that will 'just work' too, there is a firmware update page which I suspect will keep up to date with the latest USB dongle device chips and the USB device setting page allows their network APN/username/password settings to be entered along with different WAN DNS settings etc. So pleased I bought this device, twice the price of the home-router devices but cost-benefit to me is definitely worth it.

Issues with UI, connection speed/VPN tunnel on BT's HG612 modem
This router was to replace our existing Netgear FVS318G with limited VPN capabilities but unfortunately Cisco did not work with BT Openreach Huawei EchoLife HG612 3B VDSL/FTTC Fibre Modem as expected even after updating to the latest firmware version 1.1.1.06 (end of 2013 and no further updates despite reported bugs?!). CONS - a couple of problems namely: - user interface is not always storing changes made to settings e.g. tried to edit port range previously added to services in 'Setup' > 'Forwarding' and it would not save changed ranges. Deleting services didn't work either and removed entries were still showing up. - managed to set up a VPN IPSec tunnel to a Cisco ASA 5505 Sec+ managed by Rackspace and the link stopped working twice with no changes made to the settings apart from doing MAC->IP mappings. I was on the phone with Rackspace tech support who are excellent experts and know this stuff and we couldn't mange to get it working again. As soon as I plug back in FVS318G the VPN tunnel comes up and all is working fine again. - download and upload speed dropped from 17Mbps up / 6Mbps down to 1-2Mbps / 0.01-0.07Mbps which is pretty unusable hence probably our VPN problems. I've opened a ticket with Cisco but we are unable to find the root cause after replacing cables, changing MTU, connecting router via switch to modem (this actually made speed test show weird results of 36Mbps/0.06Mpbs with packets still being dropped). - If you are using in your business any type of home 3G, 4G/LTE signal booster most likely it's not going to work (or at least 98% of time). This is actually other vendors' fault and not Cisco but just wanted to let you know as our business' mobile handsets have been completely cut off from the network and Vodafone is sending a proper business Managed Sure Signal booster box as replacement. - No weekend support which let us down in our case when as things cannot be troubleshoot during office hours without disrupting business nor outside hours when all staff want to lock up go home. PROS: - plenty of useful features and settings - nice web GUI although some settings should be under dedicated sections IMHO (after a while one memorises where they are). Also, Amazon has sent me a product that has already been registered at Cisco by another company in France (am in the UK) and they refused to open up a case or de/re-register it saying I should be contacting their partner in this case Amazon. I got a replacement device with exactly the same issues although this time was able to open up a case with Cisco. It's a shame because I really wanted to get this router working... spent already 4 days troubleshooting outside business hours and got nowhere apart from finding more glitches. I hope they release promised firmware update soon and check why it's not compatible with once of the most popular VDSL modem used by BT, Sky and other ISPs across the UK.

Class C networks only ? You must be joking....
Horrible. This device only support class C networks, so you can only use it in the smallest, most immature network. No way can this be used for a SOHO network, and barely sufficient for a home device. I sent it back after 2 hours and bought a Peplink Balance 30.

Excellent piece of networking equipment - I use this for my home network; much better the consumer grade stuff.

Go for an original cisco product that's better
This router only has class C subnet, i.e. a /24. The dual WAN capability doesn't work at all, it only works if you connection drops from either uplinks. As long as there's an active connection, but no internet, it doesn't failover. If you have more than 100 users behind this device it overheats, fails entirely or drops you from the UI. It's still a linksys product, not cisco worthy at all!
