The story picks up with the former Physio Zaku pilot and his team escaping a failed raid on a location on Earth that is currently working to bring the former Zaku back to life. They pick up their informant and run for the border knowing that a munk brother hood his fast behind them with salvaged mobile suits that they've repurposed for themselves. As this is going on Ensign Io returns to the battlefield aboard the Spartan and his new Gundam the Atlas. Their first appearance is and mission is to take out a Zeon shuttle that is loaded with explosives on a direct course for the Spartan. Then the book concludes with a side story about a former Death Squad officer who now pilots a custom Gulf as they hunt for treasure in Earths ever growing desert. This is a great book and I'm looking forward to the next in the Thunderbolt series. I highly recommend this one and the rest for all Mobile Suit Gundam fans and Mecha fans too. Review: Great Manga, A Bit Pricier than others but worth it - My personal favorite Gundam series of all time. Captures everything great about the various anime but gives it a more thoughtful and gritty coat of paint. Nice volumes with good print quality, a little larger than other standard manga like from Shonen Jump series.

Great Manga, A Bit Pricier than others but worth it
My personal favorite Gundam series of all time. Captures everything great about the various anime but gives it a more thoughtful and gritty coat of paint. Nice volumes with good print quality, a little larger than other standard manga like from Shonen Jump series.

Daryl Lorenz bites off more than he can chew after an extraction mission goes bad. This book also contains a short story about the Living Dead division pilot Sean Mitadera after the One Year War.

Worth it for Gundam fans
Bought it as a present for my boyfriend. He loves it, great series and so is the anime

Steadily moving forward...
Mobile Suit Gundam: Thunderbolt is an amazing series. With the absolute amazing highs of the first three volumes it is understandable that the next dozen chapters would need time to set things in motion for another tilt. Like Volume 4, Volume 5 moves ahead with a decent enough speed and action to keep you entertained. Daryl Lorenz will find himself in action on the surface in a MS not suited to his prosthetic limbs. And Io Fleming returns with full swagger and fanfare in the new Gundam: Atlas. Once again the artwork is amazing and the colour sections a joy to behold. In this volume we also get a Two part side story on Sean; who was also apart of the Living Dead squad in the Thunderbolt Sector in the first Arc of the story. I highly recommend this series, however, with this volume-- as well with Volume 4: I recommend buying volumes in bulk so you can binge read a large sections like I did.
