This worked great for installing deck-boards this summer. Easy to use and exactly as described.

I refinished my deck and this proved to be an indispensable tool; saving me a lot of time and facilitated the regular spacing between boards. It's not particularly sturdy (plastic); by the time I finished the large deck, it was falling apart, but I still give it 5 stars because I can't imagine doing my deck without it.

The Good. Tool works as well as the Trex tool. Lines screws up at a slight angle which does 2 things, a stronger hold for the clip on the Trex board and also allows you to fully seat the clip in one pass as opposed to partially inserting the screw and then having to come back and tighten all the screws once the next board is inserted when installing without the tool. The Bad. The front arms that hold the clip for insertion broke after about 100 clips were installed. I was still able to use it but slowed down the install considerably. Manufacturer is clearly aware of the problem as I noticed in their specs that they claimed this was a new improved plastic version and they also did not complain when I returned it for a refund. This tool is likely ok for small deck projects but for bigger installs you might want to consider the more expensive Trex version.
