One of the most comprehensive pool cleaners on the market
Having a luxurious in-ground pool is great but for many years it came with a huge trade-off. It's a *lot* of work keeping it clean and pleasant. Even if you have a professional come in once a week or so there's still plenty of maintenance to do between visits. I'm not even talking about occasional tasks like chemicals, filters, etc. Most of the work is basic cleaning in and around the pool. That's why I love pool robots and have accumulated a small army of them. Typically, pool cleaning devices are 'specialists': some clean the floor of the pool, some clean debris from the water, etc. This Blue Helix pool cleaner is more of a 'generalist' that does as many different jobs as any robotic pool cleaner I've tried. What's even more impressive is the versatility it delivers at a very reasonable price point.First of all, it cleans like the proverbial 'white tornado'. This is where it pays to invest in a quality pool cleaning product. Lower end products might look and act like you think a pool cleaner should, but they just don't do a good job cleaning. Not this unit--it cleans and cleans thoroughly. The cleaning efficiency is further heightened by the customization options through a smartphone app and programmable timing function. One of the best features is the ability to customize the cleaning 'priority' for the day in addition to the duration of the session. You can do a comprehensive clean or focus on, say, the floor of the pool. The wall walking capability is impressive and that means you can focus on the waterline to keep it in top notch shape.Mechanically, it's as good as anything I've seen. It offers 3 motors and 4 brushes which creates impressive power and maneuverability. According to the product description, it can clean over 4750 GPH and I have no reason to doubt that. The filter baskets are well made, easily removable and clean with a fine tooth comb. Many robots treat the filters as an afterthought, but this product understands how important it is to the overall cleaning experience. For as long as I can remember, I've cautioned would be pool cleaner buyers that they need to understand the limitations of the product. Many think they can just by any cleaner and that it would take care of all of the pool's surfaces. The reality is that it has taken several different cleaners to take care of different jobs. This is as close to a comprehensive pool cleaning experience as I've seen. It's easy to set up, easy to use and will keep your pool spotless between visits from your 'pool guy'. Very highly recommended!

Made Well—Works Well—Lacks Nano Filtration Option
I've had the privilege of testing, utilizing, and reviewing just over two dozen pool cleaners. You could say I know a thing or two about powered swimming pool cleaners, including robotic cordless and corded (umbilical) and stick-type cordless pool vacuums, with prices ranging from just under $100 to over $2,000.Today, I'm reviewing the Blue Helix Robotic Pool Cleaner with Smartphone App, Dual Oversized Filters, Waterline Cleaning, Focus Mode, Auto-X Pool Mapping Vacuum. This model has been running in our pool for the last thirty days, right up to pool closing. This put the Blue Helix to the test because Autumn is the most challenging season for pool cleaning, at least in our region of the U.S., and we have a lot of deciduous trees surrounding our home. This umbilical-powered unit is super easy to set up and operate. The instructions are written well enough to figure it out without a bunch of fuss. As mentioned, this is a corded pool cleaner. Meaning there is no need to remove it from the pool for charging. You can set up a cleaning schedule that is best for your pool using the power head or the downloadable smartphone app that you can get in the app store. I found the app the most convenient, especially since I didn't need to be home to set or change the schedule. The two generous-sized filter baskets allow more cleaning sessions before it becomes necessary to remove the unit to clean the filters. Access to the baskets is convenient and does not require much effort. They are easily cleaned with a garden hose. The Blue Helix excels where many other pool cleaners fail, particularly in wall and waterline cleaning. Those two chores are the most neglected in nearly all pools. Experts recommend wall and water line cleaning be done every ten days at a minimum. The Blue Helix filters almost 80 gallons of water per minute. That's a lot of water. It uses an intelligent mapping system to clean the pool without missing spots, as many other models tend to. The rubber-like brushes are well-designed to scrub the floor and side walls, loosening and sweeping up all sorts of debris into the vacuum slots on the underside of the unit. Another excellent feature is that while using the app, you can direct or "drive" the robot to a specific spot that needs a touch-up.Conclusion: The Blue Helix checks every box for me except one. That is the lack of nano-filtration. Though the filter bags can capture almost all the debris in your pool, they cannot hold the ultra-fine particles of airborne dust and dirt, some types of algae, and micropollens that find their way into your pool's water. This ultra-fine debris will pass through the filter baskets and re-enter the water, not to be seen until it settles again on the pool floor or clouds the water. If this unit had an ultra-fine filtration option, it would have exceeded my expectations (necessary for a five-star review). As it is, the Blue Helix easily met my expectations and earned four stars. If I could award half a star, I would give it 4.5. It is a very good product, and I recommend it.

It's fine?
It works great but it didn't feel any different than a 400$ pool cleaner. It still works but the price difference is large. There are more features than others but... you're just turning this on and putting this in a pool. I don't think the price is worth it but it does still work. Others explain more specifics better, but I'm not blown away by this product.

Works great and is easy to set up
We've had a few pool cleaning options throughout the years. Most work OK, especially if you don't have many trees surrounding your property, but often, the devices we've had have left a little to be desired after the "honeymoon" stage of owning one. We've never purchased an "expensive" one, so when I came across this Blue Helix Robotic Pool Cleaner for $900, I was anxious to try it out.It arrived very quickly (Thanks, Amazon), and I could unbox it and try it out the same evening it was delivered. That was a few weeks ago, and this thing is straightforward to use and set up. It got around the pool efficiently and thoroughly. Even in the Fall, when we get the wind beginning to blow leaves around, this thing cleans up well. It climbs up the walls like Spiderman, too, which was always a struggle with the cheaper ones we've had in the past. Cleaning the pool's waterline is fantastic, as that is the "ugliest" part of the pool if it isn't properly cleaned. The cable length is 50 feet, so no worries about it not being able to get through the entire pool without moving the base.I love the option for the scheduling, too: "Program the frequency you want Blue Helix One to clean at. Choose from running every day to every ten days. The Blue Helix will automatically begin vacuuming your pool." We use the pool sparingly during late Fall/early Winter, so having this consistently take care of build-up is excellent. We don't have to have it run every single day, but we also don't want to fuss with going out there and remembering to start it every week and a half. You can customize it to fit your pool use, but the ten days is the default.I'm still determining how much replacing the parts will be, as I'm not finding much information. However, Blue Helix is a prominent presence on Amazon, so replacement filters and parts will be available soon. I'm not too concerned with filters right now, as our pool doesn't fill up with too much debris, but I could understand the anxiety if someone has a consistently messy pool. The app is surprisingly fluid, too. Many times, apps for vacuums are an afterthought, but this one connects easily. I love the idea of turning it on from my phone inside my house in the morning if I know the kids, family, or friends will use it later in the day. That makes it easy to spot clean. On the other hand, I like how the app is not a requirement. There's nothing worse than your internet being down and unable to use devices manually. All in all, I think this is a great addition to our pool maintenance tools, and I hope for it to last several years at this price point.

Amazing Robotic Pool Cleaner
I have never owned a robot pool cleaner before, so I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who has done it themselves. So I was already amazed just at the concept of a robotic pool cleaner before even trying out the product. However, the product only reaffirmed my amazement and impressed me further. I was under the impression that most of these cleaners only did the walls and floor, but apparently this one also cleans the waterline (the biggest pain and dirtiest). There's not much setup at all with this and it really is plug-and-play like it advertises. It's extremely easy to use and pretty much just cleans the pool unsupervised while you're away. You can set it up to clean on a schedule, on demand, drive it yourself, and even focus on specific areas. The associated app allows you to utilize a lot of these scheduling features. The scrubbing brushes are very powerful and help to really get it clean. The dual filters are excellent at trapping all of the little bits of leaves, which are still falling right now in the Carolinas. This robotic pool cleaner is just absolutely amazing. I'm more impressed by this then the robotic vacuums, because this saves you so much more time and hassle. If you own a pool, then I don't know how you could get by without one of these. This option by Blue Helix seems to be the best value you can get for the money, but without losing out on all of the awesome features.
