Genie 12492 Compact Pocket Calculator with 8 Digit Display - Blue, single unit

I purchased this to use for vet nursing. It's small and fits in my pocket, but I have seen more compact designs that my colleagues have. Nonetheless, that's not a big issue. It's also really inexpensive, which was a plus. However, after having used this calculator for a few weeks, I've learned that I got what I paid for.What I find troublesome is that the keypad is not sensitive enough. I really have to mash the buttons to get the numbers to register, which is not ideal, especially if I need to calculate medication doses, fluid rates, etc. I absolutely cannot get those wrong. Also, I'm not sure what's happening, but I sometimes get completely wrong calculations. Not sure if it's due to the aforementioned keypad issue or if the calculator is not clearing the previous numbers. I usually double-check my calculations so I often catch these errors, but it's annoying and potentially dangerous. I'm only a student and I have not developed the experience and intuition to know whether a calculation seems right by just looking at the number.I think this calculator is fine to keep around the house or in your purse for simple calculations, but for nursing/vet nursing, I'd look for something else.

It works but sometimes takes a while to come on.

Good size as a pocket calculator, however my keypad is quite faulty.
