Pro-Ject Wash it 2 Eco Friendly Record Cleaning Fluid in Ready to Use Mix Suitable for VC-E(2) VC-S2/3 (1000ml)

It cleans records on a ultrasonic machine. It does the job, there are better but more expensive.

Carriage restrictions have made stuff such as record cleaning fluids more costly and/or more difficult to send through the mail and I had watched the price of my usual mixture (from the British Audio Group, if I remember correctly) rise and availability become worse. I had seen numerous adverts for Project's own branded mixture -- I think it omits the alcohol component and is more environmentally friendly -- and decided to give it a try. It works perfectly. In fact, used with a very old Moth MkM II RCM it may even out-perform the old mixture. And it smells nicer -- quite pleasant, in fact. It even 'lathers' slightly while scrubbing the surface of the record and you feel the LP is getting a really good clean. With a large-ish collection of predominantly old and used LPs, all of which have been cleaned using a wet/vacuum RCM, I wouldn't be without a good record clean ing fluid and shall stick with this.

Got this to replace the origanal wash-it which you had to mix with distilled water, this is much easier and gives better results I also bought some cheap pipettes to measure the liquid out this saves a lot of waste and after youve done a few you can start to use less fluid. I bought this and the record cleaning vacuum as well the only down side was it was bought to try and clean a record that had "sweated" a record that has been in a humid environment and reacted to the gases from the outer protective polythene sleeve and caused mould and a waxy layer to embed in the vinyl which it claims it can do but couldn't but that aside the results are stunning down to hearing sounds clearer and bringing the vocals clearer would highly recommend if you have a vinyl record vacuum 😀

This felt expensive but it does work really well and not a lot needs to be used per record to achieve great results.

There are better cleaning solutions around so worth shopping around. The manufacturer will always recommend their own product but this does not remove grease from a record although it does a reasonable job of cleaning them.

My record collection dates from 1970 onwards and having tried various cleaning techniques over the years decided to splash out on a ProJect DISC washer. The product is as normally used. This bottle had leaked into the protective bag so obviously wasn’t closed properly when manufactured
