CAP Barbell Rubber Olympic Bumper Plate | Multiple Options/Colors

I came across these on sale and read the reviews. I decided to go with the "better" 25lb bumper option over the "budget" as they were only a few dollars more than the "budget". The better option was still less than a dollar a lb and I got free shipping with prime. They arrived in about 5 days in good packaging. These exceeded my expectations. Very sturdy. Both weighed exactly 24.95 lbs according to my scale. Now I saw some people complaining about the smell. This is ridiculous to me and must be from people who've never bought rubber plates or rubber dumbbells before. They ALL have this smell, no matter what brand you purchase. It's just gas escapping from production process and will be noticeably better after a few days and will be completely gone after a couple weeks. If your rubber coated plates or dumbbells didn't smell when you bought them it's because they sat in a warehouse unpackaged and the gases dissipated there instead of in your garage. Bottom line. There isn't a better value out there on bumpers for a home gym.

These plates work great I weighed them and they were spot on. They do have a rubber off gas smell a bit at first. Nice addition to my home gym. Recommend do to value and craftsmanship.

Weight plates pair of 15lbs just came in. They fit perfectly on to my Olympic barbell 35lb. They are smelly and oily. Weight is weight. Don’t to need spend more $ on more expensive brands.

CAP makes pretty good products. They aren’t top tier by any means but they get the job done. I am not even positive which CAP weights this review was for because I have about 350 lbs of various weights between their economy and elite series weights. The economy series is nice. I like the color markings to differentiate weight easily at a glance. I’d say accuracy of weight is hit or miss. Some are spot on but the 45lb weights are actually 46.7 lbs (at least mine are). I have a multiple 45 lbs plates but a single one has developed a bit of a crack in it. I’ve only had it for 5 months so that’s not great. But the other 3 45 lbs plates are all fine. I have 2 15 lb plates and one of them developed a small almost bubble on the side. Though it’s very small and not an issue, but it’s a slight deformation. All the other economy models are fine. As for elites, I only have 2 35 and 2 25 elite models. You can tell it’s virgin rubber versus recycled rubber on the economy. It just feels denser almost. I have no deformities or cracks in the elite models. Price wise you can sometimes get elite for as cheap and in some cases cheaper than the economy so I’d go with elite. HOWEVER, the elite is all black and lacks color to differentiate them easily at a glance. Look. These aren’t Rogue Fitness. But they aren’t $3-5 a lb either. They are just as heavy to lift as other premium brands at a fraction of the cost. They’ll do for the avg lifter and they’re a great buy on a budget.

Bought these for my home gym and Love them. They are smooth coated finish and do not have a strong smell like some others! I don't slam them down for my exercises but if you drop them they do absorb the impact and not damage our floor!

Weight works great. Had a slight burnt rubber smell to it opening the box but went away after wiping with some rubbing alcohol and airing out.

3 out of 8 plates look like this. Not made for impact. Will not buy again.

They aren’t expensive. They fit the barbell. People say they are stinky, yes, there’s some smell because of the material, but it disappears over time. Then some say they’re greasy, they aren’t. It’s the material. Good for a simple old school training, when you don’t care how well the plates fit your interior.

外観で気になる部分があるが、価格を考えれば致し方無いと思います。 開梱すると石油系とゴム？樹脂？の混ざったような匂いが強烈なので、拭きとっても ２週間程度は換気を意識しないと匂いが気になります。 部屋に体重計が無いのでプレートの正確な重量が不明ですが、既に持っていた5㎏の プレートと比べると３個分に対して明らかに体積的に大きい気がするので中の鋳鉄の 密度が低めなのかもしれないと思っています。

They are well made but arrived covered in a slippery grease which was hard to wash off.
