Unbelievable and Unputdownable!
First- some of the reviews are spoilers, and not labeled as such! I'm so glad I didn't read the reviews before I read the book. I'm warning you all. I read this one in 4 hours. Could not put it down. The plot is just crazy. Like others, I found the material uncomfortable, and the characters very unlikeable most of the time. I had to keep reminding myself that this is just a story, not real life ( at least I hope people don't live like that). But the twists and turns just keep coming and by the end, you will be left stunned. I have never disliked so many characters in one book , and at the same time been rooting for them. Like I said, use caution when you read other reviews because some of them will spoil the entire book for you.

Nice twist
I just got back into reading books and wanted to read something that could keep me interested. Let’s just say, after getting through the first half I had to finish it. Thank you for making reading fun again :)

Freida did it again
Freida did it again. While this book has received mixed reviews, I personally enjoyed it. It’s a fast-paced, page-turning read that held my attention from start to finish. True to Freida’s signature style, just when I thought I had everything figured out—I realized I had no idea what was really happening. The story ends with an unexpected twist that caught me completely off guard. I did have a few lingering questions about the ending, but that didn’t take away from how gripping the experience was. I even filmed a reading vlog as I finished the book, and my reaction to the final chapters says it all—I was fully invested and thoroughly entertained.

The "stupid" teacher
Initially, I enjoyed this book because its simple English made it easy for me to understand without relying on a dictionary, as English is not my mother language. However, as the story progressed to the middle, the plot took a dark turn. Nate, a teacher, became a villain who attempted to kill his wife, Eve, after she discovered his affair with Addie and threatened to expose him. Surprisingly, Eve is no saint either—she hooked up with a married man Jay, making her equally morally flawed. One aspect of the story that doesn’t make sense is Eve’s behavior. Even when facing death, she continues to threaten Nate, saying she’ll report his affair to the principal instead of begging Nate for saving her life in dangerous situation. It’s as if she’s saying, “Save me now! You will get reward by my reporting your affair....” This illogical reaction feels absurd and poorly written. The book’s title should be changed to "The Stupid Teacher" to reflect such foolish decisions. After this point, I lost interest in the story and skipped to the final chapter. To my surprise, Eve, the “stupid teacher,” survives, while Nate dies. This ending feels unfair and unsatisfying. I expected both of them, along with Jay, to face consequences and die as well.

Good story
This was a good quick read. It was hard to put down. The subject was very taboo, and at times it was hard to read without a guilty conscience. In the end it was worth sticking with.

Twisty, Fast-Paced, and Impossible to Put Down
The Teacher by Freida McFadden is another gripping thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. True to McFadden’s style, the story is packed with suspense, sharp twists, and characters with hidden layers. Just when you think you know where it’s headed — you don’t.The school setting adds a unique, chilling backdrop, and the pacing is perfect — quick chapters that keep you flipping pages late into the night. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with dark secrets and jaw-dropping reveals, this one definitely delivers. Highly recommend for fans of The Housemaid or The Perfect Son!
