The Cleansing of America Hardcover – April 2, 2010

First off I must say this is a book that non-mormons may find confusing, but still nontheless a great book.I read it in 3 days, had a hard time putting it down.My story:For many years I did not understand why the world was the way it was....I watched TV, the news, and listened to everything I was told by the media. I put my trust in them, after all, what could they have against me. They did not even know me. And they were always so poised, polite, and professional.When I hit the age of about 22 I began heavily researching alternative energy. In my research I found that many innovative inventors had never been successful. They blamed it on conspiracy and a group of individuals who were working to obtain a worldwide government. HA, What a joke.As time went on I kept finding more credible people talking about the same things....Then I stumbled across videos of U.S. presidents from 1990-2013 (Democrat and Republicans) who each made statements about a New World Order. This impressed interest on my mind, even though I still thought it was a joke. But why would U.S. presidents mention something I never heard of on the news. If it was really important wouldn't the news tell me?So I began to study and before I knew it I realized all that was wrong in the world. There is more proof than not about this New World Order....And when you find out about it, you'll find they are the same people who have promoted and produced tyranny all around the world. The ultimate goal, world domination!When you research real history (not what the media or public schools tell you) you'll see the signs that America is quickly approaching tyranny. It happens the same way every time.A Quick History Lesson:Hitler firebombed a german government building (The Reichstag), blamed it on communist terrorists, and claimed that germans were in grave danger of terrorism. He used that fear to suspend the German constitution and give himself the power to write his own laws. He set up Fatherland Security to "protect" the people... They demonized and set up rules and regulations on guns for Jews, and eventually took the guns from them....And what became of that.... over 20 million innocent men, women, and children murdered by their own government. And that is just one story, we also have Stalin, Lennon, and Mao Zedong with his Cultural Revolution of China. Each one of them brought in swift domination...When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. This world is a sad place, but truth is out there and the more truth you learn the better off and happier you will become. Also, the more truth you learn the less likely you are to be decived by tyrannical government leaders. Always remember that Satan and Tyrannical leaders have 1 thing in common: They depend on ignorance to gain power!The book is definately a keeper, one I will look back on as time goes by. This book also explains how important our constitution and founding fathers are. I would recommend it to anyone. And I will read it again and again. This is the most comprehensive, chronological, easy to understand book I have ever read regarding the last days and the events that will take place. As with all of Skousen’s books, it was easy to read, informative, easily flowed, has common sense explanations, and occasionally, a light touch of humor. This book answered many questions I wondered about such as the position of the U.S. during the battle with Gog and Israel. With all of the political corruption today, I was concerned the U.S. would fall right in line with the great European World Economic Forum. Skousen gives detailed explanations of each event, all based and referenced on scriptures, prophets, and apostles, both ancient and modern day. He does not rely on the interpretation of expert knowledgeable men. As I read the references along with his writings, I saw words in verses that I hadn’t previously understood but now I saw them differently. It was like some of the scales fell away from my eyes. After finishing the book, I was excited and want to be here to help through all of the transitions. I felt good about the coming trials & tribulations because I better understand them, what’s going to happen, when, and why. As events unfold and occur, I know the Savior is in charge, and I see that His return is that much closer.

Book was delivered quickly and its condition was exactly as described.

I give the book out as gifts that's how good it is! I just ordered the first bookand will be reading that next. The author is amazing! The book was not in as good a shape as the seller said that was a big disappointment.

I homeschool two teenagers and am currently using Mr. Skousen's book, "The First 2,000 Years", as a supplement to our World History course. I prayerfully choose all teaching material, from the big stuff like textbooks to the minutia, like short video clips and one-sentence quotes from the web.While reading "The Cleansing of America", I had the same impression of its content as I did with that of "The First Two Thousand Years": some info is in line with scripture and official Church teachings and some is the author's interpretation of scripture and Church teachings. Ultimately, each of us must decide what is true and what is not, but we don't have to figure it out on our own. We have a loving Heavenly Father who invites us to prayerfully seek His counsel in determining what is true and correct. My comments above reflect my answer from Him regarding Mr. Skousen's writings.Finally, this quote from former LDS Church president, Joseph Fielding Smith, given in the October 1918 General Conference re: false prophecy (in this case, the White Horse prophecy) adds to my philosophy in determining truth from fiction:"I have discovered that people have copies of a purported vision by the Prophet Joseph Smith given in Nauvoo, and some people are circulating this supposed vision, or revelation, or conversation which the prophet is reported to have held with a number of individuals in the city of Nauvoo. I want to say to you, my brethren and sisters, that if you understand the Church articles and covenants, if you will read the scriptures and become familiar with those things which are recorded in the revelations from the Lord, it will not be necessary for you to ask any questions in regard to the authenticity or otherwise of any purported revelation, vision, or manifestation that proceeds out of darkness, concocted in some corner, surreptitiously presented, and not coming through the proper channels of the Church. Let me add that when a revelation comes for the guidance of this people, you may be sure that it will not be presented in some mysterious manner contrary to the order of the Church. It will go forth in such form that the people will understand that it comes from those who are in authority, for it will be sent either to the presidents of stakes and the bishops of the wards over the signatures of the presiding authorities, Or it will be published in some of the regular papers or magazines under the control and direction of the Church or it will be presented before such a gathering as this, at a general conference. It will not spring up in some distant part of the Church and be in the hands of some obscure individual without authority, and thus be circulated among the Latter-day Saints. Now, you may remember this." (Joseph F. Smith, Jr., Conference Report, October 1918, p.55.)

This is an excelling book which talks about what to expect to happen before the 2nd coming. It brings much peace knowing what will have to happen and for the signs that need to happen first. I would recommend this book to all Christians and anyone else who wants to know what our future holds.

An incredibly thought provoking book for our day

Clearly organized and written, no need for the reader to be familiar with rarely used words or have a great knowledge of.scriptures.Scary, encouraging, enlightening.Possibly the best book I have ever read.

This is a wonderful book it is certainly a testimony builder to show we need to be on the Lords side.
