This is for the dogs for B vitamins
I've used brewers yeast before for the dogs but previously it so finely ground that dusty powder ended up sticking to the bowls more than going in the dogs. This current version of the brewers yeast is more granular. I fill a catsup-style squirt bottle (trimmed the end a little to open the orifice larger) and spritz some onto the vege or fruit I've added to the dogs' dry food. It doesn't cause a dust and most of it gets eaten. This is for a very old dog who was a little anemic; the vet said B vitamins would help with that and when I mentioned the brewers yeast she said that would be a fine way to deliver the vitamins instead of a specific supplement. He gets ~ T a day. All of the dogs have had it and seem to have no problem with the taste. (I tried it years ago and found powdered brewers yeast to taste abominable, even mixed in orange juice; the dogs, however, seem to enjoy it.)

Product helps allergic German Shepherd get added nutrients & enjoy bland Rx kibble
My German Shepherd dog just loves this on top of her food and eats with more gusto than ever! Best is that it is so good for her too w/added nutrients that don't exacerbate her food allergies. It's definitely not like the "human version," which doesn't smell or presumably taste the same--I didn't taste the product myself, but judging from how it smells strongly like beer, I assume it has a lot of flavor, which apparently dogs love--mine does anyway. I just sprinkle the smaller scoop over her food right before serving. Her food typically consists of Rx hydrolyzed protein kibble (for dogs w/allergies), a powdered probiotic, maybe a TBSP fish oil, approximately a serving spoon of canned pumpkin, water, and sometimes things like leftover broccoli or potato. She takes OTC allergy pills, which get dissolved in the water before adding the food. Before we had to put her on presciption food, she was never food-obsessed, but afterward, it seemed like she was always begging for food and became more likely to sneak into the garbage or steal food off unattended plates, if opportunity arose. Now she seems more satisfied w/her food. I can only think it's because the Rx food is rather bland and boring, and the yeast and probably pumpkin, too, make it much more palatable. Especially important, this brewer's yeast provides extra nutrition that doesn't aggravate her allergies--hope this is useful to those w/similar doggie health issues.

No scoop?
When I first started buying this, this came with a double ended scoop. A small scoop for small dogs and a bigger scoop for bigger dogs. I dug around some and didn't seem to find one.

Smells yeasty, cats don't hate it.
Smells yeasty.Doesn't put my cats off their food, especially when mixed with coconut oil.Advice for feeding pets with this - start SLOW. It can easily upset digestion when added too quickly for them to acclimate.Actually, that advice probably holds true for people, as well. Can't speak to taste or any such factor, as I am not consuming this myself. My cats don't seem to care, as long as I don't add too much. The guidelines on the can are for dogs, nothing for cats, so I just sprinkle a fine coating, (much like you'd do with powdered sugar on a cake) of about 1/8 tsp, between four plates, one for each cat, three times a day. This seems to work well, and with this dosing, this yeast may outlast my cats.Highly recommend, if it's an option, vacuum-sealing some of this stuff in a jar so it doesn't go off before it's used up. I have it vac-sealed in quart jars, and section off a half pint as-needed before re-vaccing the large jar

Giving it to my itchy dog. She seems better
Ease of use and helped my itchy dog. Going to order more. Add to her dry food with a little cooked burger. No more canned food this new combo works better for my dogs.
