Q: I am installing on an enclosed trailer. Is it necessary to apply silicone?

Hello There; If the surface is flat, then there is no need to use any silicone as our 15 amp flanged inlet comes with silicone edge and if you fix it by screws properly, it should be good.

Q: Will this support a plug in from a 20 AMP power outlet? Thank you in advance.

I hooked mine into a 20 amp socket then hooked to a mini charger to wifes go cart and it works perfectly. First one I had for years and worked great till somebody ran over plug.
