It's cotton, with a sateen weave (particularly smooth). It isn't "satin", like the dress fabric, if that's what you are wondering.

i washed this at 30 and found it difficult to iron. has anyone else had this problem?

Iron,are you crazy? Wash, hang to dry, make bed with sheet. Even if the Queens coming round for tea, i do not iron

It’s a top quality cotton sheet, it’s smooth and I like the way it feels crisp and cool, especially if you don’t use fabric softener. I don’t think you need anything higher than a 400 thread count
