OptiMate 4 BMW CANbus 12V Motorcycle Automatic Battery Charger Optimiser

Works fantastic for my BMW R1300 GSA

Works really well. I am impressed that I have bought the battery lead for all of my bikes so that i can plug it in easily. Diagnoses the battery aswell so if it does not register a grean light after the charging has taken place then the battery is on its way out so it can be replaced before leaving you stranded in the wilderness. Has a standard and canbus charging capability but I hav not used the latter. clear and easy to follow instructions.

Comes with direct connections if you want to go straight to the battery terminals. However I have canbus and it’s so easy after a ride to just plug it in the socket and leave it knowing it’s keeping my battery in tip top condition.

Vehicle has a battery hidden away so awkward to fit my old Optimate. As is a can bus vehicle this Optimate had the option of plugging it into the accessory socket. It arrived with the can bus option already selected so just had to select the correct connector plug it into the vehicle and the mains. It performed an initial battery check cycle and then all indicators went green. It now monitors the battery and keeps it in tip top condition so the vehicle is ready to use at the turn of the key. Peace of mind knowing that when I want to use the vehicle it is ready to go and no flat battery.

Does the job, but if you don't use it for a while it forgets that it's in canbus mode, and I find the light system very confusing

As it is a can bus edition, it can’t already set up in can bus mode. Instructions are tricky but once I understood it was so easy to use. Basically plug the can bus extension into the lead from the Optimate, plug that into the bike’s can bus port. Make sure both connections are firmly in place(mine weren’t, I had pressed hard but not enough) then plug the optimate in and it does everything else. Lights on the optimate are only there to tell you what’s going on, by referring to to the light codes in the instructions. Took me longer to write this than to get it working :)

I use this for keeping the battery on my BMW K1000GT motorbike topped up. So I bought the Canbus lead model. It is very easy to connect up to the canbus 12V outlet. This activates the Canbus and checks/charges the battery. It all seems to work very well, everyting is automatic, there are no settings to worry about, other than Canbus or standard mode. It's a bit pricey but a clever piece of kit.

Bin sehr zufrieden! Ich benutze sie für meine GS, um im Winter die Batterie in Stand zu halten! Habe sie nun schon 3 Jahre und bin immernoch sehr zufrieden!

Meine BMW hat eine CanBus Ladebuchse. Somit kann die Batterie geladen werden, ohne ausgebaut werden zu müssen. Gleichzeitig gibt es keine Konflikte mit der BMW Elektronik. DieBedienung ist kinderleicht, da das Gerät nach Anschluß alle Parameter erkennt und einem nur noch mitteilt, was es gerade tut. Das Ladegerät hat mehrere Ladeprogramme, für mich ist v.a. das Ladungserhaltungsprogramm wichtig, um die Batterie über den Winter pulsierend zu laden. Mit dem Gerät kommen 2 Klemmen, um eine Batterie direkt anzuschließen und der Canbus Stecker, der BMW spezifisch ist. Eine gute Investition, um die Lebensdauer der Batterie zu verlängern.

Das Ladegerät ist wie erwartet gut, es wurde mir von einem Freund empfohlen. Es funktioniert einwandfrei.
