The winner
It was always my Husband‘s job to clean the litter box so I never really cared about what litter he bought. But now he travels out of town a lot and now it’s my job to clean the litter box. The litter we were buying they must’ve changed the formula because I was cleaning it twice a day and it still had a slight odor to it and it was so embarrassing so I tried another litter that was a clay. I didn’t like it and then I heard about this pretty litter Looked at the reviews. And decided to try I tried it in one box just in case the cats didn’t like it and they immediately gravitated to this box. There’s no odor there’s no scooping of the pee. It’s a win-win situation for me and when my husband came home and went back to cleaning the litter boxes. He was kept on asking me. Where’s the pee? I explained to him that it absorbs into the silica sand and the solid dries up so there’s really virtually no smell at all. I love it when people come into the house and say you have cats. It’s such a compliment.

Best litter.
I love this litter for my cat. It doesn’t create the dust like the other litters. It actually dehydrates the Poo so it doesn’t smell so bad. And the litter changes color after your cat urinates so you can see if there’s a problem.

Pretty Litter for the Win
I absolutely love Pretty Litter. I love that my cats do not track it all throughout the house, as they do with other litters. And I love that it has a superior odor control as opposed to other litters that I have used. It absorbs smell and waste better than any other litter I have used. It doesn't stick to the sides of the litter box, which is an amazing trait as well. And due to it's high absorbency, there is not a dust cloud every time I clean the litter box, which is nice as well. It is so much easier to clean their litter box now that there are not clumps all throughout the litter box. I love that it is lightweight and the bags are not too big. It was also delivered to my home quickly so I appreciate that as well. Overall, this is just my favorite litter.

Too messy, too expensive, but cool concept
I bought this litter hoping it would be worth the money, since it’s one of the more expensive litters on the market. I love the fact that it changes color based off the cat’s health and it really put my mind at ease to know my cat’s color was in the normal range. The litter has a nice fresh scent and hides odor extremely well at first. For my cat and I, this litter was extremely messy. There is a ton of tracking and the litter itself feels like sharp sand, so I was constantly vaccuuming and sweeping to avoid a mess. I recommend an enclosed litter box if you are wanting to try this litter, because my cat flung it everywhere — and normally he’s not super messy with litter. It also would fly everywhere when he would step out of the litter box or move the litter around, possibly because the litter is pretty dense so he would have to shovel with some force .. Scooping is where I had some confusion. The product is designed to not scoop the pee, only to move it around throughout the litter box and the odor gets trapped in the crystals. However the pee in the litter box would sink to the bottom and create a clump that’s sturdy enough to band together but not sturdy enough to scoop as a clump. It didn’t seem practical to not scoop the pee and to just mix into the litter as a whole instead — this weakens the saturation of the fresh crystals and leaves you with a bit of a stinky pee litter box. To combat this, the only thing you can do is add more litter (which leaves you running out of a “month supply” pretty quickly) or scoop the weird pee clumps rather than mix them (which leaves you running out of a “month supply” pretty quickly as well). Overall it is a cool concept and worth a try, especially for the health monitoring aspect. The functionality of the litter itself is just not great for everyday use when it comes to messes, longevity, effectiveness for the price, and for kitty paws.

Helped Us Catch a UTI Early, but I Mix It for Best Results
A couple of weeks after we started using Pretty Litter, our cat actually did develop a urinary tract infection and the litter changed color, just like it’s supposed to. That helped confirm our suspicions before we got to the vet, and they verified it. So it definitely works for detecting health issues, which is a huge plus. That said, I do feel weird leaving the litter in the box for long stretches after it’s been urinated in. Even though it doesn’t clump, I found that it starts to smell if I don’t scoop something out. My solution has been to mix Pretty Litter half-and-half with regular clumping litter. It’s not perfect, but the combo actually clumps decently and completely takes care of odor. I’ve been surprised how well that’s worked. Our cat adjusted to it just fine—he’s pretty laid-back. Overall, I like it and will keep using it, just with the mixed-litter approach.

My cat used immediately no hesitation because new type of litter. No dust and lightweight!!
No dust and lightweight!! My cat used immediately. Usually have to use litter attractor to coax him to using any new litter but he used right away and seems to like. Also love not having heavy bags of clay litter trash every week to carry.

My Honest Review
Well, After all the positive reviews and tv commercials I purchased 2-6 pound bags of Pretty Liter. I don't know what to say except for me none of what I herd about this product was true. First, In my case Pretty Liter didn't turn a vibrant color with my cat's urine like I saw on the commercials. Second, it was the good with the poop but because pretty litter doesn't clump my cat's urine soaked into the white crystals and after a week it developed a terrible foul smell. The smell didn't filter through home but when cleaning the litter box it was terrible. After two weeks the urine that soaked into the white crystals turned a muddy grey color (I would not let my cat put her paws into this disgusting mess. Pretty Litter only lasted two weeks before I had to trash it), Needless to say I would not recommend this product.
