Awesome Gyre pump!
This is a awesome gyre pump! Incredibly quite and reliable. Made a huge difference in the flow control abilities and has helped me dial my tank in perfect. Great price and quality. Outstanding customer service too! I also have the magtool ATO and it has been preforming flawlessly. Magtool products for the win. I suggest anyone just getting into the hobbie to give them a try, youbwill not be disappointed

Very well built
Recently bought a hyger wave maker for $10 less than this one and it was terrible, vibrating very loud sounded like car with subs driving bye. This one is very quiet and well built. The motor attaches to frame with a rubber mount that absorbs the minimal vibrations from the motor. Can’t hear it run even with ear right next to acrylic. Very powerful I’m on the lowest speed in a 32 gallon cube and it works great. At a third the price of bigger name brands this product is a must.

Powerful Beast of a Gyre
I absolutely love this product. My corals have been so much happier since I started using it. Before I got this pump, I had two Nero 3 pumps and three other cheap pumps in my 60 cube reef. I used the Nero pumps to for overall tank flow and the other three pumps for surface agitation since my pH has a habit of dropping from 8.0 to 7.4 if surface agitation is not good enough.Boy oh boy let me tell you. This gyre is amazing at keeping up my surface agitation needs and keeping tank water moving. I chose the MT-1600 and it does more than enough at 40%. You read that right - 40%! I took out the three cheap pumps and was able to cut my Nero 3 flows in half and my corals have never been happier.I have a mixed reef and so depend heavily on random flow and the 'random' setting does not disappoint. I like it even more than the 'random' setting on my Nero pumps. It genuinely makes my corals so much happier - especially my green star polyps. It makes me so happy to see their polyps flowing in so many directions. My only complaint is that it is a little bit difficult to take apart and clean. I urge you to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! watch the cleaning video here on Amazon. I accidentally broke the impeller shaft and had to get the entire pump replaced.Other than that, I would say this gyre is exceptional. I would say it is very comparable to way more expensive gyres like Ice Caps, but just without the mobile/Bluetooth feature. The pump control does have a mount, which makes it super simple to mount to the back of your stand or up under your tank, out of the way but easy to access! I could not recommend this enough for anyone wanting a gyre in a reef tank.

Junk
I'm not one to usually complain but these things are complete junk. Bought 2 about a year and a half ago and both went out at about tge same time. Would not recomend this at all. Can't buy replacement parts anywhere.

A WaveMaker that, makes waves??
The media could not be loaded. I recently returned to reefkeeping after 30 years and was excited to try some new tech instead of the old powerheads we used back in the day. This thing is truly remarkable. I might have had one as powerful in the past, but none as quiet as this one. And then the controls! I love being able to dial in the right flow (which is only 40% for my 60g cube!). The random mode is fantastic for creating chaotic natural patterns of flow. The most fun is using the actual wave function to create real waves in my tank that slosh the coral around in a very natural pattern (see video)! I have had many "wavemakers" before but none that literally made actual waves!

Excellent Quality at a Low Cost!!
The media could not be loaded. I've had Maxspect Gyres in the past and recently needed another wavemaker. I have the MagTool ATO and absolutely love it, so I purchased the MagTool Gyre as it's a third of the cost of other manufactures. The packaging was top notch, installation was a breeze, and programming took no time at all! Each mode is unique to cater to each reef tank, but I run the pulse mode on our Red Sea Reefer 350 and it's been working perfectly. Hands down the best priced gyre with equal quality to other top brands. I wish I had purchased all MagTool accessories when first starting a reef tank!

Strong wave maker that exceeded my expectations
I recently ventured into the world of saltwater tanks after 15 years of experience with freshwater setups. My research led me to the MagTool Aquarium DC Gyre Wave Maker, and I must say, it has been a fantastic addition to my new 30-gallon saltwater tank. Even at less than full power, it's impressively strong and surprisingly quiet, which is a big plus for me. What I appreciate the most is its ability to simulate natural waves, mimicking the conditions of a real saltwater habitat. The range of wave options it offers is a standout feature, providing a lot of flexibility. MagTool Aquarium DC Gyre Wave Maker has made a significant difference in my saltwater tank experience, and I highly recommend it to fellow hobbyists.

Works but needs resetting often
The wave maker works as advertised, however, many times the wavemaker will not turn back on after going into feed mode. Additionally, the screen will freeze and you will not be able to make changes to the module unless you unplug and plug back in. Lastly, your power settings are 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. These percentages shown in their photos make it seem you have more control, but you are only limited to four power options. The tide settings do not seem to change whether you are on level 1 or 18.When it works, it's great. But when it doesn't (which is often) it can be frustrating
