KJV Large Print Compact Bible

Cute little bible. Words are a bit small but I still like it

The boom is smaller than I expected but it should work well.

I bought this as a great travel Bible. It's definitely true King James version. What I really like about it is that it does lay flat. This is great for traveling whether you're going to see someone or go to another state, it's not too bulky. The print is also good, not too small, the words of the Lord Jesus are in red which is also a plus. I've only had this Bible for a little while now the zipper is pretty good as well. With the zipper and the cover it's like this Bible already comes with its own carrying case which is also nice. With any new Bible new pages will always stick together. But in due time they won't become as static. Comfortable to carry and take anywhere. It also includes some things in the back like a Bible reading plan for one year as well as some other helpful things. It also includes a ribbon marker to mark the spot of the Scripture you are reading. The ribbon marker is a little bit long, not horrible. It also includes a verse finder in the back of the book if there's a particular word you're looking for. All in all for the price pretty good.

I am writing this review on the basis of first impressions and functionality as I received it today and checked it for accuracy and function as a book. Also because to review the bible in a deeper sense would be highly subjective and personal. Here are my findings. The size is good and compact without being too small to hold. The print is the perfect size, being legible at normal book reading distance even in low light. While I suspect it will wear off (which is reasonable at this price) the gilding is nice looking. Other features such as the color maps and and verse finder are nice value adds that do not inherently detract from the text. A prominent negative review accuses this bible of being bootleg and missing pages as well as having bits about abortion and homosexuality in the back. I have found these criticisms to be largely baseless and I will explain why. I have already addressed the bootleg concerns in a previous paragraph. While I have not checked the entire book I have not found any evidence of missing pages. The table of contents has lined up exactly with the stated page and through several random page checks I have not found any chapters or verses missing or altered from the pure cambridge PDF I have. What I will say is that the pages are remarkably thin and have a tendency to stick together a bit, though they do it less as they are used. It could very well be that this reviewer failed to notice the stuck together pages and thus presumed they were missing or they are comparing it to a different version of the bible. Finally the bit about abortion and homosexuality. I have to presume this is referring to two parts of the verse finder under the subsection "what the bible says about" and lists some chapters and verses for each. While I can understand not even wanting those words to be printed in a bible, and I am not going to get into whether the verses listed for each are appropriate for the reasons stated at the start, I can't help but find this criticism to be at best extremely petty. The exact words of the review are "Also added sections about abortion and homosexuality in the back pages which was pretty weird and disturbing." which is a gross misrepresentation. To call what amounts to less than 10 words total a section is very misleading. It makes it sound like there are at least a paragraph each on the subjects when its really a series of verse references. Its not like they're spouting contemporary rhetoric or making apologies. CONCLUSION: For this price its hard to beat this combination of value and functionality. It has passed the sniff test for initial accuracy and by all appearances and everything short of a full 1:1 comparison is an accurate printing of the King James Bible text with some nice bonus features tacked on. Any objective criticisms such as the likelihood that the gilding will wear off or that the pages are pretty thin and stick a bit when new are all reasonable given the price. On its own merits this is a 5 star product. However I must dock 1 star, on principle, for this Bible being printed in China. While I understand that is a big part of why it is at a low price I would have gladly paid double or even triple for a bible of identical quality that was printed in a country that does not repress or subvert its teachings and persecute its followers.

I love this Bible! This is my second purchase from this publisher. I love that the font size is not too small and the size makes it easy to take anywhere. I bought this for my son and he loves it! Highly recommended and would buy again!

The Bible looks very nice and got delivered within one day. Very good service, but the format is not larger print it's the same as my standard bible which means I'm back at sqaure one. Would. Love a larger print One should then rather opt for a giant print. Thankyou.
