The Strongest Man That Ever Lived: (Original Version, Restored)

A good book for old time strongman fans
I found reading this book about Louis Cyr very inspiring and thoroughly enjoyable and no doubt I shall read it again one day in the future...It is a good little book, only 110 pages long and written by another world famous author and old time strongman George F. Jowett. The authors passion, enthusiasm and love of strength, strongmen of old and the iron game shines through on every page.Louis Cyr was an incredible Canadian strongman who was very active and competitive during his strength career. He travelled to England, Scotland and all around the world challenging and easily defeating all comers in battles and tests of strength...He competed against and bested the strongest man in Canada in a rock lifting competition when he was only 18 years old!He was a genuine strongman and not a charlatan/trickster like some so called strongmen of his day.According to the author he possessed biceps of 22 and a half inches! and forearms of 19 and a half inches and based on his lifts I can quite believe it!He met and defeated (in tests of strength) nearly all of the famous strongmen of his day including Eugene Sandow, Cyclops and the great Scottish strongman Donald Dinnie of the Dinnie stones... He beat various others as well (too numerous to mention)This is quite a rare book (I had to order my copy from America) and I think that there have only been about 2 or 3 books ever written about Louis CyrOne of them is called Amazing Canadian by Ben Weider which I have not read yet. This book "The strongest man that ever lived" is recommended reading for fans of old time strongmen and those who appreciate real strength and the achievements of the giants of the strength world.
