Umm. I Guess It's An Acquired Taste...
I have travelled extensively in Morocco, but during my stay, I only used Argan oil on my skin. It might have been in some of the delicious food, but since I never cooked while I was there, I am not sure if I ate it during my stay or not. I probably did and never knew it, but since I don't know, I cannot compare what I tasted there to this product.I think this tastes akin to a very strong olive oil. I prefer a lighter tasting oil, but I cannot say that this strong taste indicates a rancid flavor or if it is simply how Argan oil is supposed to taste. I suspect that it's supposed to taste like this - I know what a rancid oil is like and this doesn't taste rancid to me. Just really, REALLY strong. When you put it in a dish, be sure to know that the flavor will overpower everything else. I do have some real experience with exceptionally good quality extra virgin olive oil, and in my experience, the best olive oils do not have this intense, unpleasant flavor. This product gets 4 stars from me because of the vitamin E content. I bought this because I am allergic to wheat and since wheat is a major source of vitamin E in the American diet, my levels were getting low. Then I found out that Argan oil is even richer in vitamin E than wheat and my problem was solved. Since I don't like the taste in cooking, I just take a teaspoon every day along with my disgusting cod liver oil and other supplements. It does the trick.Just to make sure I have a really fresh Argan oil, I am planning to buy a different brand next time so I will have a basis for comparison. If I find that Argan oil is always this strong in flavor, I'll come back and give this item 5 stars instead of 4. If I find that I like other brands better, I come back and reduce my rating to 3 stars. If I realize that this Argan oil is rancid, I'll come back and change my 4 stars to 1 star. I might even take it to a local Moroccan restaurant and ask the owners to taste test it and give me a knowledgable opinion.

It's great! I mixed it with silicone I bought from ...
I used it for my highlighted hair as a moisturizer leave in after a shower . It's great ! I mixed it with silicone I bought from Sally's and argan oil capsule with orange smell from Walmart after my hair was dry. It has a roasted smell overall , but did the job for my hair .

Its a wonderful product....BUT?
This product came very quickly, and its wonderful., It is very fresh, and has a sweet nutty smell. This might be used for pouring over salads, or pasta, or whatever, but I use it for my face and hair. The nutty smell once it's on the skin , disappears, which is great, because I don't want to go out smelling like salad dressing. Also it's a good price. I have bought other oils that were more expensive, and did not smell like nuts, but it was not as refined, Also this product is organic. The only thing that upset me was the way they packaged it, It was not packaged with love. I got it out of my mail box as soon as it was delivered , and it felt very hot, as it was just thrown in the box, It had a sparse band of bubble wrap, with no air, and rattled and bounced around the box for it's long trip without much support. What up with that???. Also the tin was dented.. I was worried about the oil being rancid, but lucky for all of us, both buyer and seller, it was still sweet. Please pay attention to this beautiful product, that many ladies labor over, for their living. and it would be a sin to waste it. Have some respect. We were lucky this time.

Leaky, impossible to open can!!!
The top of the can was oily when it arrived, indicating possible leakage of product. The can was almost impossible to open, plastic ring broke when opening and then the top fell into the oils when it finally gave way. The can was only 2/3 full of oil, indicating that it had leaked before shipping or was not filled when sealed. The use by date was not legible, so it is impossible to tell if the product is too old to use. Smelled okay, but in a case like this, I doubt I will use it due to concerns about purity and age. Not a good experience!!!

Best value of all the Argans for the money
I have tried a couple of the other argan oils, mainly the Zamouri, and the Argan'Or , you might have read my reviews under dxwallace (Doug from Seattle). This one is a very close second place to the Zamouri for taste and like Zamouri, if (to me) blows away the taste of the Argan'Or. The reason it is my current Argan of choice if because you get so much more for less money than the Zamouri, with "almost" the same taste. It is in a metal container, and I am always concerned about BPA in the lining, I'm gonna have to look into that further. OF course, a BPA lined container would be a deal breaker. Although I heard somewhere the metal container was made of tin, not sure if that is good or bad. Argan is perhaps the best tasting oil ever, and it's high content of gamma tocopherol (a form of Vitamin E), makes it a great fighter of prostate cancer and breast cancer.........

Good product
This is an inexpensive substitute for the argan oil products sold for hair and skin.I figure if it is safe to consume in food, it is certainly safe to put on skin. I got a container two years ago, March 2013, and I have using about a dime to a quarter's size dollop in the palm of my hand since then on my chest and neck to stop the crepe paper appearance to my skin that was starting to form there. The argan oil stopped it completely. I am now mixing a bit of Nature's Own Essence Frankincense oil with it and also applying that mixture lightly to my face, whatever is leftover on my hands after I have spread it on my chest and neck. I just started that a month ago, and it does seem to be reducing the appearance of smile lines and lines between my eyebrows.

not the real deal
Wouldn't recommend, it seems diluted and doesn't smell good. Perhaps something is lost when doing what ever is required to pass FDA standards and sell in the U.S., but I've had pure argan oil and there's no comparison.
