Stop telling people what to do. Start improving how they think. In today’s workplace, where knowledge workers are paid to think, conventional leadership models are failing. The result is a crisis of disengagement and a costly gap between the way employees are managed and the way they want to be managed. This book offers a new approach to leadership development, showing you how to achieve lasting results by subtly and powerfully influencing the way your team thinks. Based on a deep understanding of brain science, this practical guide provides a six-step framework for leaders who are ready to stop telling and start transforming: A New Way to Lead: Discover why traditional command-and-control methods fail with modern knowledge workers and how to unlock their potential by improving how they think. Practical Coaching Models: Implement proven, process-focused tools like the CREATE and FEELING models to structure conversations that generate insight and commitment. The Neuroscience of Performance: Understand the core discoveries about how the brain works―and why helping people make their own connections is the fastest way to drive change. Effective Feedback and Follow-Up: Learn to give feedback that builds strengths and ensures new insights become lasting habits, not just fleeting ideas.

Condition could be better described
Quiet Leadership is high quality content and essential for anyone exploring coaching - I knew what I was buying and why. In terms of the condition though, I expected a second hand book. However, it was described as Very Good Condition, so I've knocked a star off as it's pretty battered to be honest.

Dance like a coach
Serious about coaching?Serious about the science of language and the brain?Read this! The book brings together neuroscience & the use within coaching people around goals, dilemmas & performance. I have completed many of David's courses & it has boosted my income, my management position & best of all the way I speak with people & understanding them better. As a writer, David lacks a bit of inspiration at times & I feel as though sometimes I was urging him to get to the point. You will never get as much out of a book than at a seminar or course. This book will give you more than enough food for thought & tools/systems to achieve success in the realms of performance coaching.

Not a bad book
Felt a bit simplistic in parts, but kept my attention; I shall use some of it in my work situation.

Good - but check its what you expect before buying!
No quiet what I was expecting - which was an expectation formed from reading the first two words of the title alone. Nevertheless, I rather enjoyed this book and thought the advice good. There are a few original ideas, but mostly it is a version of/advance on something like Schein's Process Consulting, combined with a coaching style of leadership. Occasionally I found the examples a little naive and too neat, but worth a read if you are looking for a different way of leading a team.

ABORDAGEM INTERESSANTE
Gostei da associação entre os caminhos da liderança e os das conexões neuronais. É uma abordagem inusitada e pareceu-me verdadeira.

Required to enlighten
A good friend adviced me to read this book. I have to say that it provides me a lot of answers I asked myself regarding the cerebral part which has to be taken into account managing people. My turn to encourage you to read it and To enjoy it.

I was recommended this book by a work mentor. I found it very useful in providing a systematic way to listen, query and empower people to realise and improve on their thinking.Well written, excellent references.
