Great Quality, Low Price, Quantity Correct
I'm very pleased with the quality. I was worried that these may be some sort of "knockoff" but that's not the case. The quantity was right on the mark as well (yes, I went through and counted, lol). As far as germination rate and how well my seeds like it, is still premature, but I do plan on following up within a month's time. The pellets I've used so far, did expand like they were supposed to. The seller I used was "Root.Naturally"***UPDATED 3-8-2017***Just as I suspected... sellers play a HUGE role in what we receive. I just ordered 2 more 100 count pellets, but this time my order is utterly SUBPAR!! I ordered the same item from a different seller "Flora Hydroponics"... BIG MISTAKE!! These are half the size of the 1st batch both pre and post soaking. I posted plenty of photos of today's shipment, & intend to get a refund & return. We'll see.***Only purchase from "Root.Naturally", otherwise you'll be disappointed!!*** End rant. lol***UPDATE*** 3-13-17Knockoff Pellets are on their way back. Amazon DID issue me a complete refund via gift card (my choice), and my order was just now placed to "Root.Naturally", for 2 more Genuine Pellets. I'll update at least once more, after this latest order arrives. 😊***Update*** 3-16-17So as expected, I received the genuine product from "Root.Naturally" seller. I now have true to size & count, where my original review applies. So very happy with Amazon's Customer Service in this situation too. Free shipping back with a shipping label provided by them. This is how stores should handle shipped returns, in my opinion (I know this is irrelevant to product review but I'm amazed with Amazon's handling of the situation, making this the easiest "hassle" possible).***UPDATE*** 5-12-17So at this point most of my peat pellets that I used for seeds germination are now in their final locations in the garden or container. I've had no issues with germinating any of my seeds and for the most part I've had over 95% germination success with the few issues being a difficult seed to germinate or my own oversights by not keeping an eye on them and letting a few dry out too much. I used at least 150 pellets this year.. going through 1 whole package and a partial of a second one, so at times it was difficult to stay on top of my babies. Some people were worried about the netting being too tough for the roots to break through, I have encountered no issues in this area either. I've grown a variety of plants... carrots, even, and none of those seemed to have issues breaking through to grow straight. Sometimes there were issues with mold on the outer part of the pellet, but the few times were my fault due to overwatering and while they were in a heated mini germination greenhouse (those made for pellets) but this had no effect on the seedlings. At times I'd use a mix of water with a few drops of Hydrogen Peroxide (32oz water:10-15 drops HP) to keep the mold at bay while aiding germination.I've used the pellets to germinate everything from flowers, to herbs, to veggies & fruits. Great for all except maybe bigger seeds such as peas, melons, squashes, moonflowers, etc... since they tend to run out of room quickly in the small pellets. The roots are poking through days after germination, that's if germinating of these bigger seeds didn't burst the pellet in two beforehand. I hope this last part was helpful. I tried to be as in depth as possible.

Neat Solution for Small-Space Seed Germination
I use Root Naturally peat pellets every year to sow 1,000+ veggie, annual, and perennial seeds every year. I work on 2 folding tables set up in my kitchen! I could not plant so many plants, so neatly without the peat pellet solution. The Root Naturally pellets appear to be jiffy originals, rather than knock offs which I also have mistakenly purchased at Amazon. The peat in the Root Naturally pellets is soft, making rooting a breeze. (The soil in some similar products offered at amazon is rock hard, making root penetration difficult). I rarely cover the seeds, unless it's something like parsley that needs darkness to germinate. I just throw the seeds on top of the growing medium and press them into the peat. Make sure to cover your newly sowed seeds so the seeds remain moist. (Swifter Sweeper plastic boxes with covers are ideal for germinating seeds sowed in the pellets.) I use larger sized (taller) pellets to sow tomato plants to encourage deep root formation as well as for some annuals (sunflowers) that don't like to have their roots over manipulated during the transplanting process. Only wish Root Naturally sold some of the smaller diameter sized pellets so that I could plant even larger numbers of annual flower seeds. The pellets arrived very quickly, within 2 days!

A GREAT way to start with sturdy, health, vigorous plants -- at a reasonable price
We're putting in a garden that starts with 60 bales of 'now-seasoning' straw bales -- and these great jiffy peat pellets are helping us grow seedlings to stuff into the composted bales soon.....so glad they came, so glad they came so quickly, so glad the tablets are the fine quality that they are -- and know we're soon going to have seedlings that will be happy to take off and do good things for us as soon as they -- and the bales -- are ready. REALLY looking forward to this gardening season -- and these Jiffys are an essential part of it. Not-so-incidentally -- this is not the first "Jiffy" order for us -- and the earlier-planted ones now have transplants popped up and leafing out with obvious great vigor.

Great pellets.
Great pellets... uniformed and consistency when it comes to expanded size. You can clearly see the difference with the Jiffy 7 series net style casing... clearly supports root growth through the casing..even fine roots. I give 4 stars only due to lack of a full compared season of growth to determine if it is worth anything more than a convenience.

Light and airy peat pellets with a tissue-thin casing
Bargain peat pellets are not created equal!I've previously purchased 40mm Chinese-made peat pellets on Amazon, and they certainly did the job, but I saw a good price on these 42mm Root Naturally brand pellets and decided to give them a try. Check out the photo and see for yourself how different peat pellets can be.The other brand pellet is tightly packed into a tough (but breathable) casing that needed to be cut open to give the sprouts a place to pop out. Roots grow through it, but it's fairly stiff and I chose to carefully cut away much of the casing when transplanting.By contrast, the Root Naturally pellets are much more delicate and airy, and the casing is tissue-thin. When saturated with water, they puff out and the casing starts to split, but they hold together fine if you handle them delicately. They seem to retain moisture much longer than the other brand, and I feel no temptation to cut anything away. It's clearly not restrictive to roots and will disintegrate rapidly when planted. For ease of use, a brand with a "sturdier" casing might be your preference, but for doing it's job of promoting germination and seedlings, I am a fan of these Root Naturally pellets.
