Decent drill bit for softer metals
After using this drill bit on aluminium and mild steel it seems to be pretty decent for the price, it cuts nice clean holes without too much fuss and so far isn't wearing out so hopefully should last a good while before needing sharpening and replacing. I used it with a bench drill press and a couple of different cordless drills and it works fine with all.

Cuts cleanly and quickly.
My preferred drill bits that I use at home are cobalt ones, but they only go up to 13mm so this 20mm one was a good addition to the set.I’m very pleased with its performance, and it cuts stainless steel very well. What you get in the plastic tube is exactly what’s shown in the seller’s picture. There is a good coating of anti-corrosion oil on the drill, and it arrived in perfect condition. The shank is 10mm diameter and 55mm long. Overall the 20mm bit measures 150mm end-to-end. I will definitely buy more of these bits in different sizes when the need arises.

It will drill metal & wood. The 16mm drill that I have will be ideal for fitting 15mm copper pipe
It will drill metal & wood. The 16mm drill that I have will be ideal for fitting 15mm copper pipe.Very good quality steel. We used to call the drills, blacksmiths drill bit because they will fit in smaller chucks saving me getting out the big drill. Price is not cheap but if you require a quality drill you unfortunately have to pay for it.I did like the fact that it came in its own plastic container.

Average 20mm drill bit with a split point, does the job in most materials with a handheld drill.
This drill bit arrived in a small plastic pouch that was placed into a sleeved plastic container. One oddity I noticed was a distinct lack of rust preventive oil on most of the drill bit. These things usually arrive dripping wet or at least damp to the touch with the stuff to prevent any issues from them sitting around in warehouses and during shipping. There was barely any noticeable oil on this, besides a few spots where it seems to have pooled up on the flutes and at the reduced shank.Thankfully mine arrived without any surface rust or other immediately obvious defects or issues and I was able to chuck it into my dewalt XR combi drill and give it a quick test on various materials right away. The drill bit runs true in the mentioned dewalt handheld unit and also in my larger and more capable drill press. It’s been able to punch reliable 20mm-ish holes in a variety of softer everyday materials without much fuss, all while not showing any visible wear and tear on the cutting edges. The bulk of my testing was done with some scrap pine planks and it happily ran a dozen or more holes into that without slowing down with a freshly charged 18V battery. The edges will last long enough with the softer stuff, which is what I primarily work with. However, I wouldn’t hold out much hope for it lasting for more than a few holes in thicker mild-steels or harder materials, as this really doesn’t feel like a premium drill bit. You might be able to brute force a hole or three into thicker mild-steels and some stainless steels, but be prepared to resharpen it up afterwards. My main negative is that the split point on this leaves a lot to be desired from my testing in plastics, wood, and aluminium. I've tried hand-drilling holes without a centering punch or a smaller pilot hole as claimed, and the drill bit wanders all over the place. Which somewhat confused me, as split points are supposed to be naturally better at self-starting with less downward force. I had to move over to my bench top drill press to get it to stop skating over the surface without significant downward force. It could just be a result of the larger diameter drill bit though, as I’m not all that accustomed to using drill bits above 12mm in diameter for day to day projects.Generally speaking, It matches up well to other large diameter & budget friendly drill bits in the £12-18 range. But if you’re after a 20mm drill that can handle the tougher jobs and self-start without a pilot or centre punch, this may disappoint.

Drills things like a drill bit should.
Nice quality, seems well machined and drills on centre as expected.I've had no issues with this drilling alloy and mild steel, so it does what it says on the tin.The drilling I've done has been lubricated and the bit seems to be holding an edge fine, so I'd say it's up to the job.No complaints.

The drill cuts mild steel.
The 'Meccion HSS Cobalt Drill Bit 13mm Reduced Shank Twist Drill Bit' arrived in a standard drill case. The only marking on the drill is '13.0HSSM2A' obviously the '13.0' is the diameter, whether this relates to a cobalt drill I cannot confirm. The pictures in the product description show drills with markings that contain HSSCo.The 13mm drill cuts 5mm thick mild steel, which is what I needed it for, but how long before it lasts only time will tell.

Well-machine, sharp, chunky.
A chonker of a drill bit (I got the 20mm version), appears to have been machined well and very solid and sharp.Laughed at the jobs I've used it for, though you don't want to be trying to use it for anything deep as it's quite "stubby" in that respect.Good tip on it has started through metal, plastic and wood equally well and it's far better than a spade bit of equivalent size for the softer materials.

Was beim Bohren in dickem Material sehr willkommen ist.
