This small SSD is a great add-on for a Mac to edit 4K videos, store a library of RAW images or provide you with a Time Machine backup. It achieves respectable speeds (915MB/s write & 917.5MB/s read, when I tested it). In theory v10 goes faster but current-day Macs don't support the USB connection required. So unless you spend much more on a Thunderbolt enabled drive or special enclosure, this is going to be as good as you can currently get. The cable provided is short, but that can also be a benefit if you don't want wires all over the place. It also suits the device's use as a portable drive for modern USB-C fitted mirrorless cameras or the latest iPhones if you plan to shoot in the new log mode. The Mac version of the drive is colour-matched to Mac hardware and comes preformatted to work out of the packet. It's about £10 more expensive than the standard v9 drive, so I think you're paying extra for the convenience of not reformatting it plus the aesthetics. You also get 1mth free access to the full range of Adobe Creative Cloud apps, if that appeals. Finally, as someone who previously purchased the metal enclosed G-drives, it's remarable how small and light this feels. Hopefully the lack of moving parts means it will be even longer lasting too. Lovely. I've had many issues with Hd in the past big this or is robust, sleek and gives me peace of mind it won't be corrupted as many external drives I've had have all gone bad and the data I have lost is Irreplaceable

I'm getting speeds around 950Mb/Sec which is good. They were clever to write "Up Tp" in their advertisement. In short, the device is performing good, it was built very good, small enough to fit in your wallet. I use it on a Mac Studio M4 Max for audio production. Reason for not giving it 5 stars is it came with the wrong cable. Upon plug-in it for the first time I was getting speeds of 39Mb/sec which is slower than a USB2 Stick. But switching to a real Thunderbolt 5 cable I just had laying around fixed the problem and then some. I guess what they sent me with the product is just a USB-C charging cable.

Superfast for time machine backup. Easy to use with Mac, the Apple OS automatically configures everything. So small, never had an external drive this compact before.

This hard drive almost cost me a quarter of my yearly salary. It came highly recommended by more than a handful of videographers to use paired with the latest iphone 15 pro max for shooting pro res 4k 60fps video. After shooting no more than 20 minutes of video in the space of 3 hours the drive suddenly unpaired itself from the phone. I plugged the drive into my M2 pro max laptop and I received the 'unreadable' message of doom. I've had to spend over £100 on recovering the data, some of which is corrupted and unuseable. It's shicking this would be the case on the first use of this drive, i'm extremely concerned about using them again as you can imagine. Take caution if you are planning on using the drive for the same purpose I just described.

Bought as extra storage for my daughter's MacBook. Just plug in and away you go, no issues and worked perfectly. So far no issues have arisen.

This ridiculously sized 1TB Hard drive is excellent and has released a lot more room on my desktop! The enclosed C to C cable could have been a bit longer, but it is a portable Drive after all. Be aware however, an offer is enclosed for Photographic software that will give you three free months use. Never heard of it. To take the offer, you have to sign up then the cost is revealed. This will make your teeth itch! Avoid.

Excellent hard drive, fast, reliable, solid built, very small for the storage price and great price if you buy on sale.

En mi caso para Mac sin problema. Conexión rápida y copia de datos rápida también. Tamaño mini, mucho más pequeño de lo que me esperaba.

per me è stata la soluzione. l'avvio e l'utilizzo è stato immediato. come è stato immediato il ripristino del mio macbook air 13 con chip m1. avendo liberato tantissima memoria occupata da librerie per software musicali ed editing video il computer ha ripreso le sue funzionalità di quando lo avevo appena preso. ovviamente per continuare con le attività devo necessariamente inserire il crucial ma questa piccola "scocciatura" per il prezzo pagato mi ha evitato di cambiare computer, cosa per me impensabile in quanto hobbista. un tera di spazio per me è stato più che sufficiente per disattivare cloud e altri storage di file online a pagamento. una volta collegato è abbastanza veloce da non vedere la differenza di prestazioni del pc almeno per me che ripeto non sono un esperto. quindi non posso che consigliare questo device perché con me ha fatto quello che prometteva. non posso confrontarlo con oggetti similari in quanto è stato il mio primo acquisto di questo genere.
