I bought this hub to solve a very ordinary but persistent problem: too many peripherals and not enough ports on a modern laptop. From a practical standpoint, the design is sensible. The 60 cm cable is long enough to route cleanly from a docked laptop or under-desk PC without strain, and the hub itself is light but not flimsy, with just enough weight that it does not slide around when inserting devices. In daily use I have run a keyboard, mouse, USB microphone, and flash drives simultaneously, all detected instantly with no dropouts. Performance has been consistent with what I expect from a USB 3.0 hub. Large file transfers behave predictably, and latency-sensitive peripherals such as input devices remain stable. Heat buildup is minimal even under sustained use, which suggests competent internal power management. The main limitation is physical port spacing, as wider USB sticks can block adjacent ports. That aside, it does exactly what it should, reliably and cheaply.

This is a good hub so why only 4 stars, the spacing of the ports could do with being a little further apart. When in use if you use what I would call a standard size usb thumb drive, such as the Kingston Data Traveller you can't put two of them in ports next to each other, there just isn't the room, if you're using slimmer designed drives this won't be a problem. The hub itself works very well and while the transfer speeds aren't the fastest I've not had any problems such as a drive suddenly losing connection etc when inserted into any of the ports. The design is compact so is perfect for carrying in a laptop bag if you need additional port capacity or leaving on a desk without taking up much room.

Its compact size is another plus, taking up minimal desk space while keeping everything organized. Whether for work or personal use, this hub is reliable, efficient, and well worth the price. One issue I did find was that there are issues with my wireless headphones that use a USB receiver. Not the fault of the UGREEN hub, as in my headphones manual it says that if using a USB hub, it needs to be powered. Overall I would recommend this as long as you are not using it for wireless headphones.
