My go to unmanaged switch! Mean time to fail greater than 15 years!
I replace these NetGear ProSafe LAN switches every 12 to 21 years. Most failures during years 15-20.What else is there to say. If you want reliability, this is what you should buy. It's cheap and operates 24 x 7 x 365 x 15 years!Cost per year for this product is less than $10/year!I have over 100 of these in operation these past 25 years across numerous residential projects.I know there will be 'haters' for my saying this, but I'll say it anyway. For residential and very small business use, all you need is an unmanaged switch. Paying 5x-10x more for a managed switch is unnecessary. As we are currently in 2023, we should expect that multi-gigabit technology will ramp up in the home. Given this is only a gigabit switch, we should look out for NetGear's introduction of their multi-gigabit class of unmanaged switches. "Cheap-O" Multi-gigabit switches have already hit our shores. And.. the commercial-grade multi-gigabit LAN switches are still priced quite high (many hundreds of dollars).Hope this helps..m
