Press the middle button longer. Unless it is discharge. Charge it first and if not you forgot to turn the power on.

Q: Do you need to power this on every single time you want to use it?

No, it runs when you put your hand under it and then stops until you use it again. Holds a charge for a long time. I absolutely love it.

Q: Does it work in the dark?

The sensor is triggered by heat - so yes, it will trigger in the dark.

Q: Does this automatic foam soap dispenser need to replace the battery frequently?

The one I have is rechargeable, there is no battery.
