Comfortable and effective
I’ve been using this for a few years now. I have rosacea and a lot of face products make it worse. This is calming and soothing on my skin. I use it currently as my everyday moisturiser, knowing it has a high spf built in is good. I’m very pale, so I don’t notice or mind the slight whiteness it can leave behind but for me at least that disappears after a minute or two as it settles. It doesn’t have a strong scent, and is plenty moisturising enough. If anything it can leave me slightly too oily, but a mattifying primer or similar over the top sorts that out. I’m a big fan of this, and always have an extra tube in reserve. I find it lasts me a good amount of time even though it’s a small tube.

Excellent Daily Moisturiser with High SPF Protection
I've been using the Cetaphil Daily Defence Face Moisturiser SPF 50+ as part of my morning skincare routine, and it has been a reliable all-in-one moisturiser and sunscreen. The cream has a lightweight consistency that spreads easily across the face and absorbs fairly quickly without feeling overly greasy. It provides good hydration throughout the day thanks to ingredients like glycerin, leaving my skin feeling soft and comfortable. Despite the high SPF 50+ protection, it doesn't feel excessively heavy compared to many other facial sunscreens. One feature I appreciate is that it works well under makeup, as it doesn't pill when layered with other skincare products. It also didn't cause irritation or stinging around my eyes, which can be an issue with some sunscreens. The formula is suitable for sensitive skin and has a subtle, non-overpowering scent. The SPF 50+ offers excellent protection against daily UV exposure, making it a convenient product for everyday use without needing a separate moisturiser and sunscreen. A couple of minor points to note are that it can leave a slight sheen immediately after application, particularly on oily skin, and if you apply too much, it may take a little longer to fully absorb. The 50g tube is also relatively small, so frequent daily use means it won't last as long as larger moisturisers. Overall, this is a high-quality facial moisturiser that delivers effective hydration alongside broad-spectrum sun protection. It's especially suitable for normal, dry and sensitive skin types, and it's a practical choice for anyone looking to simplify their morning skincare routine. Seller Review: The item arrived promptly and was well packaged. The tube was securely sealed, and the packaging protected the product during transit. Everything arrived in excellent condition, giving confidence that the product was genuine and handled with care.

Finally, a face SPF without tears!
I’ve been using this product for a month now, and I’m pleasantly surprised. Having been unable to consistently use a face sunscreen before because I have dry/combination sensitive skin, and always ended up with allergic reactions, eyes watering all day because of overwhelming fragrance and it destroying makeup and causing breakouts despite claiming to be non-comedogenic, in comparison the Cetaphil Daily Defence has been great. - No allergic reaction, redness, hives or stinging. - My eyes water no more than normal, and there’s no stinging if the product gets close to my eyes, and there’s no strong fragrance throughout the day to be bothersome. - My skin broke out in a very minor way as it got used to the product, but that’s not uncommon for me with new products. - My makeup actually sits quite nicely over it. The product has a tackiness - like lots of sunscreens or dewy products - which helps products stick, though if you’re rough or other skincare products don’t mesh well together, it might pill. It’s also incredibly dewy/shiny/greasy looking on the skin, and as someone with dry skin I don’t hate this, and while I try to powder minimally as a rule, in the hot weather with this sunscreen on, I’ve been powdering more and but haven’t been feeling cakey or dry. - As a moisturiser it’s fine, but I either use another underneath in the morning or do a sleep mask moisturiser because that works for me. - I can’t really comment on white casting as I’m pretty pale, but I don’t notice any lightening on darker areas such as under eyes. - As a SPF50 with UVA/UVB protection, I’ve not burned or tanned, but I try not to be in full sun for too long because I do burn easily, so I hope it’s working! Overall I’ve really liked this product, but I have one gripe… it’s such a small tube! According to dermatologists, for good protection with SPF you’re supposed to use a 1/4 teaspoon per application on your face (just your face!) which is 1.25ml, so in this 50g bottle, there’s approximately 40 applications, and that’s without the recommended reapplication throughout the day. Have a bigger face, want to use it on your neck, chest or ears and that number of applications goes down. I’ve had this product 33 days… the tube is getting suspiciously light. Since I used it on my neck I’m going to assume I won’t make it to forty days. So Cetaphil, you lose a star for size, but you’re a good products, so if could you make this in bigger bottles for those of use who used SPF daily throughout the year, I’d be really grateful. Please and thank you. UPDATE: I think I ended up with approximately 45 days of use out of one of these tubes, I did write it down but forgot to update it at the time, and by the end of last summer (when I wrote the review) my skin looked great! Dryness was gone, skin texture minimised, redness reduced and my skin felt really soft and honestly the best it had in years… right up until the heating was put back on in the house continuously and my skin revolted against the dry air. This year I’ve not been using it because for the quantity I can’t justify the price sitting at the higher end - when I bought it initially it was approximately £6/7, now it’s at £9, which is still cheaper than Boots at £12! - and so alongside my regular moisturiser I have been using up sunscreens I already had (Garnier Sensitive Advanced Baby in the Shade 50+ and Nivea Sun UV Face Q10 50). They’re fine, but my skin isn’t that happy, it make my eyes water and I’m breaking out since including them in my routine, so I basically check this listing every other day just in case there’s an offer. Frankly I think I just need to bite the bullet and spend the money because I want my skin to look the way it did at the end of last summer, and the only product I added into my routine and continuously used was this. Still wishing it was either marginally cheaper or came in a bigger bottle, so it’s still four stars, not five (though it’s really a five).

A Sun-Savvy Choice for Sensitive Skin
This summer, I was looking for a high-factor sunscreen that wouldn't irritate my fair skin or dry it out in the hot Egyptian sun. This was exactly what I needed! This cream is thick but absorbs easily, leaving my skin feeling smooth and moisturised without any greasiness. I used it every day for two weeks as my sole facial sun protection and didn't experience any sunburn. A big plus for me was the fragrance-free formula, which is ideal for sensitive skin, especially in hot climates. I applied it to my face and neck with no problems. The bottle isn't very big, but just enough for two weeks with regular application, with a little left over. If you're looking for a reliable, high-protection sunscreen that's kind to sensitive skin, I highly recommend giving this one a try. I'll definitely be repurchasing!

Easy to use.
I wanted a moisturizer that incorporated sun screen. This one fitted the bill. It goes on nice and as others have stated, it looks a bit white and mat when applied (but that is cause it has a sun screen) Its OK for me as I usually put foundation on top, once its dried. Saves having to moisturize, sun screen and foundation. Instead of 3 products only 2. Its a small bottle so quite expensive but worth it. I found buying on Amazon this time was a lot cheaper than the chemist shops so I bought a couple.

Not for all types of skin
Not suitable for combination skin. Too greasy, stingy in the eyes.

Pros and cons
This combination of moisturiser and sunscreen is good. I specifically bought this item for my husband as he needs something with both. It made his life easier however he complains how long it takes to dry. But for me, it’s not a problem as I take my time with things. I will carry on and keep buying this item for me and my husband. I do notice it leaves my skin very nice, a bit pore less and that makes my skin look soft. Good value and better if you buy it on sale. Container it self is durable but moisturiser itself needs to set before doing anything specially if you’re going to sweat a lot.

My forever go to SPF
I wear this every day under my makeup as my last step in my skincare routine. The light texture and no perfume is why I love it and it drys quickly. It does leave a slight white cast but this goes after a few minutes as it soaks in really well and forms a lovely base for makeup. I've recommended it to loads of people as it's really good value for money
