Unlined Beret with Nylon Sweatband

too dark, it's nearly black. I was hoping to wear it hiking in the fall but it's not really blue enough NOT to be a possible animal from a distance, it'd be a target for down state New Yorkers and New Jersey hunters out for a weekend.Plus: I ORDERED the PURPLE and Airborne Maroon came instead!!

The berets are "very good", just be prepared for sizes to be a bit inconsistent regardless of the size label in the beret. With the nylon sweatband, size adjustment is easier than the berets with a leather sweatband, so it's not a problem as long as you order "within your size range". The thickness of the wool varies a bit also, which means sometimes you'll have to "train" the beret (shaving/soaking with warm/hot water, etc.) and other times, with thinner berets, the droop lies almost perfect right out of the bag. I personally prefer the "Made in Sri Lanka" berets, but they're quite hard to find in size and color. These are the next best thing in my opinion.

Seems well made enough, but the size 7 3/4 hat that I bought didn't fit. I don't mean a poor fit - it is literally too small to fit on my head. The tag says 7 3/4, but it's maybe a 6.It is also the wrong color (black, ordered navy).I considered returning it, but that would have cost over half the price of the item.

Good quality for the price and the color looks great.

I purchased two of these berets. The first (tan) was great. The second I ordered (black) was so small that I had to remove the rattail ribbon just to get it to fit my head. Even after that, the beret itself is so small that it looks more like it was made to for a child. It was completely unwearable and thus, unusable. If the quality of these berets were consistent, they'd be a great buy. But as it is, I cannot even believe that seller is foisting this trash off on buyers.
