Look at the gauge when purchasing this item. I thought it was standard but come to find out it is a 12-gauge wire, which can be better in most cases for safety, but the thickness of the wires didn't match what I was connecting too. I was connecting to a standard extension cord. So, when using the clamp connectors that were 12 gauge, it fit but made somewhat of a loose fit on the other side. Over all it is a good cord, but I wish I had a choice in selecting the gauges of wire I needed.
