Maxam 40" Classical - Style Acoustic Guitar

First, nowhere on the guitar does it say 'Maxam' or any other brand for that matter. Secondly, it has a strong chemical smell, I suppose from the weird finishes they use in China where it was made...thats what the box says. Thirdly, the bridges are ridiculously high, but I finally got mine down to where its playable with a lot of sanding and resetting, and repeating the process. Fourthly, it was represented in the description as having no internal bracing, not true...it does have internal bracing. It sounds decent after all the bridge sanding and resetting, and is easy to play. For the money, its probably worth it, but I feel it was misrepresented.

i purchased this guitar as a gift for my daughter who was 12 at the time. it was her first guitar and was modestly priced, which was a major concern at the time. it was my daughter's first and she loved it! i did not want to spend a lot of money for an instrument that she wasn't going to "stick" with. needless to say i wanted to encourage her interest in the arts and this guitar did the trick. it has been a little over a year and she is still playing the guitar.

This guitar doesn't stay in tune and is constructed with low grade materials.
