One that actually works with the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery)
We purchased the Google Nest doorbell (battery) but wanted ours hardwired so that we could get more reliable video streaming. The specs on the doorbell are very specific that it needs 10va or more at 12-24v but searching around you are only likely to find 8va transformers readily on the market.A quick chat with Google customer services and they told me it HAD to be a minimum of 10va, so I did more digging and found this.If you don't know what you are doing with electrics, please get someone (ideally a professional) to fit this for you, although installing it was easy for me as I have some experience.Worked fine as soon as I flicked the switch with no heating up or buzzing noises from the unit and still working fine now. We did have to disable our chime though as the increase in power was too much for it, but that's not anything to do with this product so no negative marks for that.

Transformer for Unifi Protect G4 Doorbell - limited options in the UK but works great
The Unifi Protect G4 Doorbell is by far and away the best consumer video doorbell on the market, and with no ongoing subscription costs, beats the heck out of Ring, Nest & Eufy offerings. Unifi Protect depends upon local video storage - I much prefer this model over the 'someone else's computer' cloud-approach. As of right now though it's targeted at the US market and for US doorbell chime voltages (16 to 24v AC) so requires a bit of thought to work in the UK.Not wanting to miss out here in the UK, and having just moved into a new house which happily had a mains supply near the door from a 30 year old faulty alarm system, I was able to chase in a cable and fused spur switch and fit a 5/6-way DIN enclosure and a Honeywell D117 electromechanical chime box. There are limited 240v mains transformer options available that would fit this setup but the Vemer 30/24 can supply both 24v AC and 12v AC, so along with an AC relay, I was able to supply the Unifi Protect G4 doorbell with 24v AC and the chime box with 12v AC.Everything works a treat, no sign of the 'instant smoke' referred to by other reviewers; one has to suspect user error in those cases though manufacturing faults could also explain it I suppose... though surely they are tested before leaving the factory? Mine seems perfect however and has been happily supplying my video doorbell for a week or more with no problems. A bit pricey but recommended and it should last for years.

Reliable and Efficient: VEMER VN319000 TMC 30/24 Transformer Review
I recently purchased the VEMER VN319000 TMC 30/24 Continuous Operation Transformer for a project requiring a stable 12-24V power supply, and it has not disappointed. The 230V to 12-24V output range is perfect for powering my system, providing just the right amount of power at 30 VA.One of the standout features of this transformer is its continuous operation. It has been running non-stop since I installed it and has proven to be reliable, with no issues with overheating or performance dips. The white color blends in seamlessly with my setup, and the compact design doesn’t take up too much space.Setting it up was straightforward, with clear instructions included. The transformer feels solid and well-built, providing peace of mind knowing that it will perform efficiently over time. It’s also quiet, which is a big plus when used in a workspace or home environment where noise could be a concern.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the VEMER VN319000 Transformer. It’s reliable, efficient, and durable—perfect for any application requiring a stable power source. If you're in need of a dependable transformer for continuous operation, I’d definitely recommend this one.

Voltage too high!
This transformer is designed for 230V input.Because the UK never actually harmonised on 230V and stayed on 240V this means that the transformer output voltage will be higher than 24V as the transformer is being supplied with a voltage that is a bit higher than it was designed for.Worse still, the mains voltage in UK homes frequently rises to 250V or over, particularly at night. This will further raise the output voltage of the transformer. With an input voltage of 251V tonight the transformer was outputting 32V while supplying a video doorbell. This is significantly higher (25%) than the maximum voltage specified for many video doorbells.Normally these tolerances do not result in equipment failures but in this case the transformer is rated at 24V which is the maximum voltage the doorbell is specified for. While other reviews state that these transformers are perfect, they clearly are far from optimal. Many doorbells will work but they risk having a reduced lifespan due to the continuous over voltage. Time will tell. Not recommended.

Essential when running twin video doorbells with IR illumination.
Only one of my doorbells requires 24 VAC with 10VA...... I have two.... originally I used my legacy PSU which worked ok at daytime.... but at night, when the IR illumination came on.... it ran red hot.... and when operating the either doorbell they rebooted..... I then swapped to a 16VAC 8VA I had spare... this worked just... but also ran hot.... upgrading to this 24 VAC 30VA PSU meant that both video doorbells run fine, at night with IR illumination powered, and the PSU itself is barely delectably warm... which means it is well within it capability. To operate a video doorbell properly with IR illumination (plus continuous ONVIF recording to NVR) you require a properly sized AC PSU. There is no way a wire free battery powered one could even function with the same level of performance.

Excellent quality
I bought this for a Nest Wired Gen 2 doorbell (not currently available in the UK but ordered from Amazon US). This meets the power requirements and is working well!
