Eileen was such a relatable character, and I love how brave and strong she was. The friendship dynamics were amazingly well done and the picturesque town was everything one could wish for in a fictional setting. The romance was also delightful and the way both the MCs got together in the end was so satisfying to read about. I love happily ever afters, and seeing everyone get theirs in this book made it all the more special to me. The plot twist was quite predictable but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this book. I wish we had another Ashley Poston book to get lost in because how am I supposed to wait until next year for another story like this? This book is a gem, and I’m so sad it’s over. But like all beautiful stories, this one too must come to an end, and it was a beautiful conclusion. Review: Lost in the book world - A Novel Love Story is a plot that takes us to travel with Eileen, a devoted reader of the well-known romance novel series by Rachel Flowers. I found it difficult to comprehend the first few chapters of the story; it looks slow. Everything was so confusing; I read about her, her BFF, her club, and a weird town. It starts with her annual book club retreat getting canceled. This makes Eileen embark on a solo trip, hoping to escape her personal troubles. She gets lost along the way and eventually finds herself in the town of Eloraton. She doesn't know the town and is having trouble figuring out what happened. All this does not make any sense at all till Eileen finds that the town mirrors the fictional world of the Flowers' series. The town’s characters and setting are all familiar to Eileen, but they don’t recognize her, leaving her to figure out whether she’s truly in a fantasy or trapped in a dreamlike reality. This marks the transition point from where I was completely into the book. Being a book lover, I had always dreamed to get lost in the world of books. and here this story is actually one like that. I could relate with Eileen and found here so closely related with myself. The book had so many moments, which I annotated, and I felt as if it was speaking about me and how I felt at times. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and felt it was a good read. We actually chose this as the BOTM for our September book club meet with the BBC. Though everyone has had mixed thoughts over the book, I enjoyed it and loved reading the book. the perspective she had, and it felt as if the book was written for me, for me to reflect, for me to self-introspect and understand me. I would really wish a few of my friends had read the book, and I am tagging you guys. Go grab the copy and do read it.

Good but not as magical as "The seven year slip"
Good read for once.

A fairytale for real!! A rom com lovers paradise!!
Okay, I don't know where to begin!! I just finished it , and it was all that I expected from Ashley poston! A girl who enters her favourite book, into the lovely town of Eloraton, where everything feels like home, and every character feels like a long lost friend. This book was magical, dreamy and just perfect! It had a perfect meet cute, a grumpy sunshine trope and nailed romance to the T. Some of the things that I thought had a recurring thing in Ashley poston books were the names of her female leads are based on songs, like Eileen is and Clementine was. I love that small little detail. After reading her two books, I can safely say she is my go to romance author now!!! For Life!!

Pick this up for the most refreshing and original read of the year.
Eileen Merriweather is lost. Not just physically on the road she is on but also in life. An English Professor by day, friends, bookclub and family at her side - still she has this sinking feeling that life will pass her by. Elsy's had her best friend - Pru - at her side forever. They grew up together, always at each other's side and loving the same books. They also planned their major life milestones to come simultaneously for one another. But, does life ever play out like you plan? After a sudden betrayal by someone with whom Eileen was supposed to spend her life, she sees that things might not go as planned. The final blow comes when their yearly book club retreat is cancelled when every member is too busy to come, except Elsy. She vows to go alone and take this as an adventure to spend time with herself; doing what she loves - READING. Remember she was physically lost too? She lands in a town just familiar, within reach but cannot fully place it - until she does. It's ELORATON! The fictional town is complete with all the characters & locations from her and Pru's favourite series - Quixotic Falls by Rachel Flowers, who died before finishing the last novel in the series. Wait a second though - is this real or is she dead? Why is everyone's phone working except hers? Why do the characters from the books seem different from the endings Rachel left them on? Can she stay here without creating any disturbances? Can she find her happily ever after, the one thing she was convinced she'd never have and one thing that everybody in this town seems to have? And most importantly, who is this grumpy, muscular Darcy lookalike - whom she cannot stay away from? Is Anders real or just as fictional as this town? Is he waiting for his happily ever after or is Eileen it? This book feels like a warm hug from acquaintances you never knew you needed. Some moments seem like nothing but remain to be the most memorable. Throughout the book, you are oscillating between being scared of this feeling of impending doom and sensations of buzzing ears with life zooming out in the peripheral. You end up being so invested in Eileen and Anders that any interruptions by other characters make you angry and bring feelings of hate.

Strictly okay read
🔹 My take: 3.25/5 🔸 A novel love story revolves around Eileen, 32 who is a die hard fan of the romcom book series by an author Rachel Flowers. Eileen and her best friend Prudence go on a week holiday every year with their book club friends spent in a cabin away from worldly hustle bustle. This year none can make it and Eileen badly needs a distraction from her personal circumstances. She goes solo but loses her way on the road trip and stumbles upon an unknown town which to her astonishment is none other than Eloraton, the fictional town created by Rachel Flowers in her series. The characters, the geography all resemble the books. While Eileen knows everyone, the vice versa is not true. The story progresses from how Eileen survives within the town since she is lost as to where reality merges into fiction. And it concludes with a strong twist at the end. 💖 Wows - I was in love with the fictional town even before its entry. The word building and the vibes oozed the small town romance sensation. The concept per se of one entering into a fictional world and working their way out was mind blowing. The romance moments in there especially the clock tower one and the bench one have my heart. There are many instances where renowned books and authors have been referenced and that was endearing. This is that cozy winter or spring feel good read. 💔 Ows - While the background was so scenic, the characters themselves were very fickle and that’s what marred the experience here. It was too much to take on with multitude of people from book series, Eileen’s personal life and her book club friends. With each having their own story included; the basic plot was sidelined. The male character Anders hardly had dedicated space for himself and the love story did not sound much convincing. Eileen was more annoying than lovable and when she meddled in other people’s stories, I felt like giving the advice “First apply your own oxygen mask, and then think of helping others” 😒. 💫 I found this an average read. Would suggest picking this up if you are invested in fictional world building and magical realism ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 My review is more for the book and not for the author. The writing is definitely great and am sure even without reading her other books, that it would be superb.

✨❤️🔥🤯
Like all of Ashley Poston’s books, this one feels undeniably magical—but not in the way of spells or sorcery. It’s magical in that soft, quiet way that leaves you feeling hopeful, warm, and just the right amount of gooey inside. The whole book is every reader’s dream come true: a heartbroken book lover stumbles into a random town on a rainy day and finds herself stranded in a fictional town & not just any town, her favourite romance novel town. Eloraton, with its charming "same day, every day & nothing ever changes" rhythm, becomes more than just words on a page left unfinished—it transforms into a cocoon for change, healing, growth, and closure. While the romance did feel slightly rushed at times, the emotional depth and healing journeys of the characters more than made up for it. There’s a comforting sweetness in watching people—fictional or not—find the courage to rewrite their stories.

Fun but lacking chemistry
When Eileen decides to go on the annual book club trip alone, she certainly does not expect to get stuck in an oh so familiar town. From the cute little cafe, to the bar that only serves burnt burgers - Eileen knows this town. This is Eloraton, the town from her most re-read, favourite romance series by Rachel Flowers, the author that tragically passed away and never finished her series. Eileen certainly remembers the wonderful bookshop described in Rachel's books, but she definitely doesn't remember Anders, the handsome owner with the minty green eyes. My first novel by Ashley Poston and certainly not my last. You know when a writing style just clicks for you? This was it for me, I felt hooked on the story within about 20 pages and think that the writing played a big part in that. This was such a sweet story and I loved the references to the smutty romance book club, romantasy and all the other little references that us book lovers will have a smile to. A unique love story that takes place within a fictional town, it captured my heart and was the perfect low stakes, quick romance novel that I love - a perfect holiday read! My only criticisms would be the over use of the description "minty eyes", it was used about 30000 times and it really did start to grate on me unfortunately. I also didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two MCs so the love story didn’t really work in my opinion but the writing style kept things enjoyable for me.

I fell in love with this novel
I've read Ashley Poston's previous novels and thought that the 7 Year Slip would be my favorite. Oh, but how I fell in love with this one. They're different but both fantastic. Yes, it was a bit of a slow start until I got into it, but once I did (just a few chapters in), I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them, and I really don't want to say anything that could give away the plot or twists (although I figured them out, it didn't break the spell for me). The only reason why this review isn't getting 5 stars is because of the publishing house. The book I got was printed by Amazon (which I absolutely understand and am glad that we're taking a more print-on-demand approach instead of printing hundreds of books that go nowhere). But. Whoever was working on the prep chose "white paper" instead of "cream". And this book looks printed at home. It doesn't match the aesthetics of my previous Ashley Poston books and it's just a mistake that I hate (fine, I'm an editor, I know what I'm looking for). So, because I don't like this, however small it may be, I'll actually be giving the book away, and I won't be buying a new one just with the hope of the publishing house doing their job better. If they want to send me a free copy of the proper print version, I'll be happy to bump the review to 5 stars, but as is, this isn't a perfect book – and by no fault of the writer. (I've already preordered Ashley's next novel. I'm hoping that someone from the publishing house reads this and makes sure not to have any white paper used for it.) *** Original comment: I'll update my review on the actual content on the book when I get to it. But I needed to post this, because... Do you know how you buy print books and you're looking forward to opening the package and smelling that delightful scent and just being happy? I don't know if it was a publishing decision or an oversight, but why did I get a copy printed on white paper? Is this the new normal? This book looks cheap, not like the almost €10 I spent on it. Seriously. Google it. "Typically, cream (also called crème) paper is used for fiction and for narrative non-fiction such as memoirs. White is far more common for other sorts of non-fiction, such as how-to and business books." First thing that pops up. Whether I like this story or not (and I thoroughly apologize to the author because this doesn't reflect on her, it reflects on the publishing house), I already know I won't make an effort to keep this book on my shelf after I'm done with it. It doesn't match the quality and style of the previous ones and... It just doesn't smell like it should. How annoyed am I by this? This is my first review with a photo.
