The brooder is perfect and yes you can use with heat lamp
I am on my fourth or fifth round of chicks and have always struggled through some makeshift brooder. This time I ordered chicks on line and received more than expected. We lost two to overcrowding. I also have four goselings and knew from my previous what messy giants they can be. These brooders literally pop out into shape, are intuitive to set up and cleaning and washing has been simple. The material dries pretty much within 5 mns or so. I ended up ordering two. The first one, I accidentally bought the brooder set. Don't bother. The heat plate is ridiculous and they aren't recommended anyway (I actually had to sign something saying I wouldn't use one when I purchased the chicks. They come with a rinky dink feeder and waterer that would be about 5 bucks and aren't big enough for more than one or two chicks. No complaints though. Money well spent

Worked flawlessly to house some newborn chicks.
This was a lifesaver to help us house a small bunch of newly hatched chicks. It gave them lots of room to roam safely and it was easy to clean and store afterwards. The chicks and I are very happy with this purchase.

This brooder was awesome! Easy to set up, use, clean and store. The chicks were happy and easy to catch . The brooder was fast and quick to clean with a hose and a spray disinfectant. The brooder folded up in just seconds and stored in its little storage bag.

Worked well for us!
We first received this kit and it didn't come with the warmer as described but the company reached out and sent one to us. This brooder works very well for the first few weeks of chick growth. It's easy to clean and I love how easy it is to put together and put away. I also love the convenience of having the zippers everywhere so you can easily access the chicks and keep the brooder clean.

Brooder tent for my chick's and ducks , easy set up , easy clean up, roomy held 26 chick's with room for waterer feeder and perches only thing I can complain about is the one I received had a tear in it on the side panel

Perfect Brooder
The media could not be loaded. Love how spacious the tent is. It holds 10 chicks with plenty of room left for more. They like to sit on their perch and look out the mesh window. Since they’re getting bigger they can fly out, so I like that it come with a mesh top that can be zipped up.

Comes with limited instructions
This brooder is good for my baby ducks as they were getting too tall for the pen I had them in. The heating plate comes with instructions on how to put it together but, that's all. Not sure how hot it will get, so I'm not using it. There is a chain that I have no idea what it's for. There was an extra screw, but couldn't find where it went. So hopefully it's just an extra. Some detailed instructions for all parts would be nice.
