I think there is 20. Don't worry about extras....just dunk them in milk, they are yummy!!

I wrote to Newmans and asked the same question. Here is their reply Thank you for taking the time to write to us at Newman's Own. In response to your email, our palm oil comes from an organic supplier in Colombia that strives to support their local communities to improve working and living conditions. Our supplier allocates a percentage of their export value to fund social projects, such as health, education and infrastructure projects in Colombia. Their farms are certified by Social Accountability (S.A. 8000) in addition to their existing Eco-Cert (Europe & NOP) and JAS Organic Certifications. Their palm tree plantations are ProForest, NOP and BioSuisse certified. Our supplier is a firm believer that an optimal balance between their economic resources, their soils and the welfare of their people is the only way to sustainable agriculture and they do so by preserving their region's diverse and rich natural habitat to guarantee life for future generations. The majority of the negative news stories regarding Palm Oil that brought Palm Oil & sustainability to light occur in Southeast Asia. As mentioned previously, We do not source our Palm Oil from that region. We hope this information is helpful and alleviates your concerns. We appreciate your interest in our products. Q: Are these really lactose-free and vegan? They contain chocolate which can have milk solids. The package does not say "vegan."

The package says contains wheat and soy ingredients. It also says, "Manufactured on equipment that processes products containing peanuts, tree nuts and dairy." My daughter is allergic to dairy and she has been eating these Newman's O cookies. She has not complained about any symptoms after eating them.
