Keeps me asleep, works well
I’ve found that this works pretty well. I take half a dose (the pills are conveniently indented to be easily split) on nights when I know I’ll be struggling to sleep. I recommended trying this method first, taking only half a dose, because when I took a full dose I was completely brain fogged for almost half of the following day, and it was very difficult to get out of bed. I am a 190 lb male for reference. Doxylamine succinate, the active ingredient, is an antihistamine similar to Benadryl (diphenhydramine), but with a longer effective timeframe, making it great for someone like me who struggles to stay asleep after waking in the middle of the night due to sleep maintenance insomnia. As far as price, I don’t think you’ll find a cheaper alternative. It’s a generic version of Unisom, and more affordable. The pills are very tiny and are basically tasteless.

Great product to buy!
Great sleep aid and cheaper than the name brand product. They work great and are a good price.

Fall asleep quicker and stay asleep
This produce is great for falling and staying asleep. I am near the end of one bottle and ordering another. Within 45 minutes I find myself dozing off while watching tv. I take it 30-60 minutes before I plan to go to bed. In the morning no problem getting up.

Works a little too well
Benadryl? No. Tylenol PM? No. Melatonin? No. Other OTC sleep meds? Keep on moving. But this one? It worked REALLY well. I don't actually take sleep meds often because they don't usually work for me. Because I've slept like 💩 the past month I decided to try this. I took 1 pill 30 minutes prior to sleep and slept like a baby. I slept so well it was hard to wake up, hit snooze a couple times and was almost late to work. The only con is I felt it's effect well into the morning and afternoon: drowsiness, lethargy, slurring my words lol and difficulty concentrating/wanting to lay my head down on my desk and take a nap. Next time (I'm sure there will be a next time...) I'll try half a pill and see how that goes.

This is the real deal!
This pill is no joke! DO NOT take this if you can’t dedicate at least 8 hours of sleep. I made the mistake of taking it at midnight and had to be up at 7am and I was still so tired. I love taking it on the weekends and actually being able to sleep in which I never get to do. Weeknights if I take it, now I take it at 9:30/10pm so I can wake up at 7 without being groggy. This pill keeps me asleep which I would always wake up to go pee in the middle of night. I also dream a lot when I take it, something melatonin wouldn’t induce. Overall great sleep aid!

BEWARE! Long term use of doxylamine associated with dementia. Use sparingly!
I have to admit, it works very well for me, although if for some reasson I wake up a little early, there's a hangover effect of a brain fog for an hour or two. If you "Ask Alexa" with the question "doxylamine associated with dementia", you will get the following results... Doxylamine works by blocking acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter important for memory and cognition. Several studies have raised concerns that regular, long-term use of anticholinergic medications (including doxylamine) may be associated with an increased risk of cognitive decline and dementia in older adults. Key Points: A landmark 2015 study in JAMA Internal Medicine found a significant link between long-term use of anticholinergic drugs and increased dementia risk The risk appears most associated with chronic use (daily use over months or years), not occasional short-term use Older adults (65+) are considered most vulnerable, as the aging brain is more sensitive to anticholinergic effects Even some reviewers of the Amazon Basic Care Doxylamine Succinate 25mg you're viewing have noted its anticholinergic properties as a concern What Experts Generally Recommend: Use sleep aids like doxylamine only occasionally and short-term, not nightly Older adults should discuss safer alternatives with their doctor (e.g., melatonin, CBT for insomnia) If you need a sleep aid regularly, consult a healthcare provider

Works like a charm!
I have trouble sleeping. Like, SERIOUS trouble sleeping, and it’s been a lifelong problem for me. No matter how tired I am, it doesn’t equate into good sleep. I’ve tried everything that I could think of: home remedies, relaxation techniques, strict routines, melatonin, chamomile tea, diphenhydramine (Benadryl), and finally prescriptions. As a young adult, I thought I’d found the answer to my frustration of years of insomnia when my family doctor, whom I’d been a patient of for nearly a decade and knew of my struggles, suggested the then-newly released prescription beginning with the letter A and which rhymes with shmambien ;-). Although it worked pretty darned well at first, it caused some bizarre side effects like “sleep eating” (you’re not truly asleep, but not really awake either, and with an insatiable appetite and no real memory of it the next day). Another huge problem was amnesia if I happened to stay up past when the medicine kicked in. It was like flipping a switch—anything that I said or did after that moment was something that I would be oblivious to the following morning. The big downside was, like most people, I quickly built a tolerance which rendered it FAR less effective. My doctor said that was a very common problem with “shmambien” and switched me to a different newly released prescription starting with the letter L, and he which rhymes with tunesta ;-). Not only was it far less effective than the A prescription, but oh man—oh, I wasn’t prepared for one specific side effect. The following morning, I wondered what on earth I had “sleep eaten” the night before. I had the worst metallic taste in my mouth that I was convinced I’d somehow decided to store my spare change under my tongue for safekeeping. Yuck. Now I understood why the medicine’s commercials at that time featured Abraham Lincoln—it was because you feel like you’ve been using pennies as a replacement for a Werther’s Original. Once I read about doxylamine succinate and that it was considered to be the strongest over-the-counter sleep aid, I knew I needed to try it. I bought the name brand and the generic store brands and found that it consistently works very well for me and I have never once noticed a decrease in efficacy. I noticed that it can be hit or miss as far as finding it in the big box store as it tends to sell out quickly. After a cross-country move, I had some difficulty finding it in my local stores, so of course I looked to Amazon. I have purchased this brand about 6 or 7 times and I have been very pleased. The medicine looks exactly the same as the other brands I’ve used (I suspect that they are all manufactured in the same place) and it works just like the name brand and other store, generic, or private labeled brands of doxylamine succinate that I’ve used. I am very happy and will continue to purchase this on a regular basis as the price is excellent. I’ve now been taking it almost nightly since 2014 and I don’t feel unusually tired the next day, I’ve built absolutely no tolerance, I never say things of which I have no memory, I don’t sleep-eat, and I don’t have a bitter metallic taste in my mouth. I highly recommend this. It makes me feel better that this medicine has been around since about 1949 and is a first generation antihistamine. My doctor knows that I take it nightly and has no problem with it. I wish I’d known about it sooner.

Take just 1/2 of a tablet
Got them yesterday. Took one last night at 10PM. At noon today still struggling to stay awake. They are scored to easily break in half, so from now on I will only take 1/2 of a tablet. It is rare that a product works too well.
