We already have 2 Wyze robot vacuums (upstairs and downstairs) and have been extremely pleased with them. Our Blink floodlight camera over our driveway has had recurring issues. Specifically, the Dusk to Dawn first started failing sporadically then quit working altogether. And the Blink device does Dush to Dawn, when it works, based on your time zone not an actual light sensor. Do a web search and see how many people complain about the Blink Dusk to Dawn not working. It is a known issue, has been known for a LONG time, and is still not corrected. We think a security light being able to perform Dusk to Dawn lighting is a basic feature that should simply work. The Wyze floodlight camera was easy to install and easy to get working. The only issue I had was getting it to connect to my network. Once I typed in the network password instead of relying on the password saved by our Wyze vacuum cleaners, it connected immediately. The Wyze floodlight camera actually has a light sensor to detect when it is dark enough to turn on the light. The camera works well and has AI technology to weed out motion that it does not need to turn on lights or notify you about (wind blowing tree branches, etc.). We have added an SD card to ours for additional storage and do not have the subscription. We may add that later but are trying it at the free tier for now. We are going to see if we can get by without the additional features added with the subscription.

**EDIT / UPDATE:** I did end up returning this, and I really wish I had done a bit more research before buying it. After looking into it, the connection issues I experienced are apparently common with this version. A significant number of users reported that the **Pro** does *not* have the same connection problems. I went with the cheaper option because I already have another Wyze camera at this location with zero issues, so I didn’t expect this to be a problem. I currently have the Pro “saved for later,” but the price difference is pretty significant. That said, if you’re experiencing connection issues with the v2 and you’re okay with the extra expense, I’d recommend going with the Pro instead. Original review: Installed on Saturday, and ideally this was meant to replace the Wyze bulb/camera duo we had. That setup also included the floodlight feature, and this new one was mounted higher to capture more of the yard and driveway. The bulb/camera duo had **zero issues**, aside from heavy winds occasionally causing it to shake, which honestly wasn’t a big deal. This one, on the other hand, is absolutely terrible. For whatever reason, it constantly disconnects from my Wi-Fi, throwing error messages about losing connection. At this point, I couldn’t care less what the exact message says because I’m uninstalling it to return it. I’ve done the troubleshooting. I’ve looked up what issues others are having. I’ve tried, and I’ve failed. It will connect, then randomly disconnect, and that’s not acceptable. When it *finally* did connect long enough to show up in the app, my doorbell camera started going off randomly. Wyze, overall, just feels glitchy. Ease of use? Difficult, because it doesn’t work. Value for money? Not worth it, since you end up wasting your time returning it. Lag? I can’t really say, because it won’t stay connected long enough to find out. Sound quality? The “ready to connect” prompt is loud, but I don’t know if the actual audio is good or clear, again, because it won’t stay connected. Looks like I’ll be going back to the bulb/camera duo for now.

Like this Wyze Floodlight. I have several Wyze cams but this is the first floodlight I have used. The floodlight can be set for motion or manual lighting and the brightness can be set to whatever you want. Nice wide angle on the camera and set up was very easy. If you install a as card you really don’t need the subscription plan.

If I’d paid full price, this would be a solid 3-star camera. I use four of these at my mountain cabin to keep an eye on things when I’m not there, and overall… they do the job, with some eye-rolling along the way. **The good:** The floodlight is actually great. Plenty bright when needed, and the ambient “moonlight” mode is the perfect setting for the woods, where you don’t want light pollution. Video quality is decent—not sharp when zoomed, but that’s expected since it’s not 4K. **The annoying:** Motion detection can be twitchy and there are several different options and adjustments for motion detection that can make it overly confusing. Snow = vehicle. Bugs = activity. The AI confidently gets things wrong more often than it gets them right. I pay $99/year for cloud storage, I didn't want to deal with SD cards as they tend to corrupt over time. **The frustrating:** Mountain brownouts happen. When they do, a camera can drop offline and just… stay that way. Sometimes for weeks. No auto-reboot, no self-recovery. Eventually another outage might magically bring it back. That’s not ideal for something meant to be “security.” **Bottom line:** For the price I paid, they’re fine and they mostly do what I need. I may add SD cards as backup despite the hassle of hauling out a tall ladder. Not perfect, not terrible.
